I'm watching:

Matt Light - He should gets lots of playing time, maybe at both OT spots.

Battle for the 2-7 WR spots.

P. Smith/Z. Smith/Rashan Gary

Tony Brown and Ka'dar Hollman - Should be out there a lot with King and Jackson out.

The backup QB's - Show us something please.

Danny Vitale - I remember John Kuhn first making an impression in preseason games.

Mount Adams and Keke - Make us forget Mike Daniels

Oren Burks - Prove Wist wrong.

Amos and Savage
-

Now I'm a "flipper"?? WTF?? :)

Will try to watch the stats and check in here for y'alls take on things... spent the day running around Boston, and now I'm stuck in eastern New York with no TV. Can't even get a pizza delivered, so life sucks today!!

A lot to keep an eye on tonight... curious about the OL and running game, and the individual players. Gary, Savage, Adams, and the WR's in particular.

Would like to see one of Burks or Jones step up - not holding my breath though.

I went and looked at the receivers for ya, Wist. Check out pb’s wr thread. And I’d like ya to teach me how to spot good LB and safety play. I just don’t have a feel for good reaction time vs bad and false steps and and all that. So if you put together a comparison that explained it, I’m looking to up my football understanding so I can bring lb/safety reports some day too.

Of course you are a flipper; he'll be out of the league within 3 years :))))

It's ok; I'm hoping to flip soon but I'll probably be the second last one to do it behind Fritz

I held out forever with Adams :).

And btw I've heard whispers Burks is looking ok in training camp. Maybe then I can call you Flipperx2 :)))

Can’t wait to see Gary! He’s the most physically gifted player that we’ve ever drafted in my memory. I do lean a little toward football skill than physical talent but Gary has zero performance enhancer red flags. He looks naturally big, fast and strong. So unlike some of the roid guys, we don’t have to worry about physical drop off during roid cycles or if he were to get caught.

Also, dude is dedicated to football. Also, he’s been destroying OL all camp. Every report about Rashan Gary, both his performance and his dedication have been as good as we can hope for. His star is pointing straight up! Most fired up I’ve ever been about a draft pick.

How to score a TD when Kizer is in:
1) Wait for the drive to quickly stall.
2) Recover muffed punt in the endzone.

All other options are unlikely.

Clips galore here: https://twitter.com/riversmccown

I have not watched the game yet but the clips showed me on thing that worries me about Mount Adams. Against the closest thing to starters this game had. On that goal line score, he was a DE/DT and got completely washed out by a wham block (temporary double team with one guy peeling off to hit the second level). So no one on the front side won a battle and the RB was able to avoid Lancaster (I think) who beat a backside block and penetrated well.

But Lancaster had no speed or reach and couldn't get to the RB.

I was fortunate to be able to see the game here on the Texans NBC broadcast.

I expected that hardly any regulars would play - that seems to be the trend these days for all teams in the early preseason.

Kizer looked mediocre at best; Boyle looked good. I think/hope they get rid of Kizer - get a low round pick if possible, otherwise just cut him. I hope to see more of Wilkins passing. Keep Boyle as back up and Wilkins on the practice squad.

Dexter Williams looks like a keeper. I want to see what Corey Grant can do and maybe give Hall one more chance.

I'm about ready to give up on Moore - it seemed like he juggled the ones he caught and missed some others. It was a little bit hard to tell, though, if it was all his fault or partly Kizer. I'm more sold on Kumerow than before, and Shepherd and Lazard seem like they are more worth keeping than Moore. If we keep six, it's one of the three - Moore, Shepherd, and Lazard.

I'm guessing we keep 3 TEs and Mercedes Lewis gets cut, but that's far from sure.

Nobody that played in the O Line tonight looked all that great. Patrick was ok at Center, and it was down hill from there. I didn't see anything special from Light or de Beer, but our QBs didn't get sacked, so they must not have been completely horrible. Madison better show a helluva lot more than he showed tonight if he is gonna make the team.

On D, I'll give a large minus to Tyler Lancaster; Keke looked fairly fast and mobile, but it seemed like he got pushed around; Looney looked good against the Texan scrubs. Adams was decent but not great in the limited time he played.

I also thought Summers looked good, but I thought #40, Bolton looked even better. Crawford, the special teams ace looked pretty shitty from scrimmage. I could see him getting cut if a couple others step up in special teams. I don't know what to think about Burks. I was actually hoping he would step up this year, but maybe not.

On the Outside, Gilbert didn't impress me at all and Fackrell not much. Maybe against a less mobile QB or maybe if there is a stud OLB paired with them, but tonight they weren't great. I didn't think Gary seemed lazy, but he did seem a little bit confused or overwhelmed. Hopefully, he too will do better against a more conventional QB. #56, Randy Ramsay really looked good, although maybe it was because he played against the scrubs.

Did Josh Jones even play? I didn't notice him. Raven Greene looked great - seemingly faster and more muscular than last year. It seemed like Savage only was in for a few plays. Hopefully he's as good as advertized. Ibrahim Campbell is still listed by ESPN on the Packers roster. Does anybody know if he's really there? He supposedly has the same number - #39 - as Chandon Sullivan who seemed to come out of nowhere and looked like a keeper tonight. Jamerson is listed as a Corner, but he seemed to be playing Safety, and he seemed to be a step or two late just about all the time.

Hollman obviously looked good at Corner. The commentator said #48 Ento had been looking good in practice, but he looked pretty bad to me tonight.

Scott looked great, but then he was impressive in preseason last year, as I recall, and didn't quite play at that level in the regular season.

I think Crosby stays for another year. He wasn't great, but he seems to have a stronger leg than Ficken - and was pretty much straight down the middle for accuracy.

I was impressed that despite all the talk of more running, LaFleur had the team come out passing. I think that's recognition of what the O Line doesn't do well and the fact that he has mobile QBs, even other than Rodgers, who can survive without much pass blocking.

Watched the game on Game Pass late last night. Not terribly insightful, but these were my thoughts:

* J. Moore has got to learn to use his hands. He was making good separation all night, but Lofton in the booth was able to quickly identify every time what was wrong with his hands on each catch. And Lofton wasn't exactly trying to analyze anything all night besides his joke content. But still, he's a hall of fame wide receiver, so he knows a thing or two about catching the ball. Moore needs to focus on the technique of catching. If he can, I think he's an NFL receiver. But that's a huge hurdle. Might be akin to Tebow changing his throwing motion for all I know: works in practice/offtime but goes out the window during games. I've had hope for Moore because of his athleticism, but after that performance, I'm moving more towards letting him fall off the back end of the roster. Three more games to validate his future (one way or the other).

* I only noticed the one catch, but that adjustment/catch by Sheppard was nice. And he took a hit and hung on.

* Tonyan also had a nice seam catch. He and Jace just might be the future in GB (if Jace lives up to potential).

* Gary looks fast and explosive, but his aggression also seemed to take him out of a play or two. What I don't know is if that was by design (i.e. someone else was supposed to fill behind him). I speculate he's still getting up to speed on diagnosing plays live. Don't know how far he is from bonafide NFL starter; I would have liked to see Z.Smith on the same field to compare decision making prowess on holding the edge vs getting a push. In other words, Gary seemed to lose contain on a play or two; I just don't know if they were the right decisions.

* Ty Summers looked fast. He got lost more as the game went on, but I think that's more "head spinning" than anything else. When he was decisive, he was good.

* Kumerow was as expected. Tough catches, no drops.

* Kizer was inconsistent, but he's more talented than Hundley. And still young so lots of room to grow.

* I really liked Allen Lazard's catch. I want to see him have more opportunities, but it's still hard to see him onto the roster with all the WRs in front of him.

Yeah, I saw in the other thread that Grant was gone already and Ibrahim Campbell is back - I was wondering why ESPN had him listed on the roster. I had hopes for Grant, but something must have been not right with him. Ditto that for Hall, maybe. Carson didn't look very good at all to me last night - stuffed just about every time while D. I, despite being well "indoctrinated," flip burgers literally AND figuratively - both for the minimum wage. While some burger joints do open 24 hours a day, the graveyard gig pertains to the "figuratively" part.

Sometimes I work 14 hours a day between both gigs. At the end of the day, instead of drinking a beer and enjoying the fruits of my labor, I get robbed dry by the vicious fishmongers. Self-preservation is slavery.

Stands are empty at the start. I just saw Red.
Not a good effort on kickoff return. Should have downed it in regular season plus a penalty.

Ok Game Review:
Stands are empty at the start. I just saw Red.
Not a good effort on kickoff return. Should have downed it in regular season plus a penalty.
DeBeer got worked on first snap pass pro. Light let the OLBget his hands in first and was never in control. But OLB was too slow reading it to get to QB.
Kizer maybe completes that long ball without the pressure on his right.
M4 is not reading defense for QB in this game
deBeer fooled by stunt. This must be a requirement for Packers RT.
deBeer better time run blocking but of the right side, he had worst block. Elgton and especially Patrick made some hay on a reach block
Naked boot played well by Texans but Kizer needs to toss ball right away under that pressure
Light flagged for hold, he is much less effective in tight quarters
3rd and 15 check down, so refreshing
M4 is running some bunches and narrow WR splits but no WR or RB motion wide. TE only people who move which when you combine with next note
Haven't seen any outside zone yet
means this offense looks like M3's

Gary lost contain on QB rollout but ...
Texans running a double wing (or VERY tight wing/slot with TE) on his end of the line. So maybe he was thinking overage? But he had safety and ILB with him for help.
Texans pick up stunt with Gary and Lancaster easily, Gary slipped
T Brown with great coverage on crosser
3rd and 14 nice coverage up top of screen as LB and safety sort out twist of RB and TE, but too much time and Webb finds out route against Hollman who was close but did not make play on ball or WR
Group sack with Adams penetrating, Burks spilling and Gilbert cleaning up. Burks was hurt here.
Fackrell and 95 combine to abandon two rush lanes to let Webb go free
Fackrell needs too much space to operate if he is contain because he goes too wide and lets Webb escape
Crawford with man-sized job of taking out Guard on Power O pull for stop
Blindside block call was bullshit
Keke drew a hold
Texans held 3 Packers on the INT

MVP after 2 series, Keke Downing, guitarist for Judas Priest

Asian, latino, black, white or purple... No fat chicks!!! Ever!!!

That effectively eliminates about 88% of women off of my list, and 99.8% of all Wisconsin women :-)

Who owns the crops, house and out buildings?

APB, in this fantasy. i.e. what if you work/provide for yourself? directly or indirectly, what is the difference?

Hey, I am just trying to clear up the entire financial picture.

My personal speculation is that APB doesn't flip burgers but is a personal fitness guru and part time telemarketer.
