View Full Version : Kizer or Boyle

There was an article in Facebook saying the Packers hadn't made up their mind yet. Of the 37 comments to the article, 35 favored Boyle and 2 said they both suck. Nobody preferred Kizer.

I wonder if Gutekunst and LaFleur will see it that way too.

They do both kinda suck, but Boyle sucks less.

Ugh. I don't know.

I wonder if the Packer organization keeps coming back to the fact that Kizer is still so young that it's unrealistic to expect him to be a polished back up at this point. But I wonder, too, if the experiences of having been thrust into a starting role in Cleveland at such a young age with such a lousy team, plus now having had two more head coaches and systems, has permanently affected him.

Boyle just seems to be more in command and has reasonable arm strength, so I'm trying to figure out why they're still keeping Kizer around.

The Lions are another NFL team with a terrible backup situation. They lost their backup to a concussion, and the guys behind him are, I think, worse than Boyzer.

Man, I’ve known Partial since he was originally “tensdeny” at JSO. And I feel like I still don’t know him at all.

Used to be, there wasn’t a black QB out there Partial didn’t like. From David Garland to Bryon Leftwich to Tarvaris Jackson to Vince Young. Nowadays, Partial hates the Hun and his clone Kizer.

Know what, fuck both Boyle and Kizer. Sign Kap! Kap has the athleticism of a black QB and intelligence of a white QB, yo.

hahahahahahahahaha If football was the only consideration, APB, I wouldn't mind Kaepernick as our back up. He was serviceable as that with the Niners. The drop off in the passing game from Aaron Rodgers would be so huge with anybody that we couldn't beat very many teams, but the way Kaepernick ran from the QB position, I can't recall anybody as good - Bobby Douglass, Randall Cunningham, Robert Griffin, Joe Webb hahahaha - nobody.

The other thing nobody has pointed out is that this isn't Ted Thompson's Packers any more. Maybe the improvement of our D and our receivers and our RBs might be good enough to win with somebody like Boyle - whose main distinction from Kizer is that probably he wouldn't overtly lose the game himself.

The greatest midget warrior, Boyle! And he’s our midget. No one can stop us!!

I don't know, Boyle has been extremely successful this season. Anyone want to look up ARods year 2 preseason and compare it to Boyle this year? Kizer on the other hand has sucked by and large. This is only a "competition" because one went to Notre Dame and Started a year in the NFL.

Why anyone would think that Kizer might still develop after playing at a big time U and starting a year in the NFL, but Boyle is maxed out is beyond comprehension.

I would bet Boyle will be better than Kizer, but there’s no way to know for certain how he’ll perform in reg season games. Yet. I really don’t want to find out but we will.

Did Gooter draft Josh Jones or was that ThanksTed ?

Gooter made the trade for Kizer ? Anybody think that weighs into this ?

It would be awfully hard to have confidence in a staff that could possibly consider Kizer a better choice than Boyle.

This is a bit of a least smelly turd situation.

We are talking about long term relief here.

I'm a bit lost in your analogy. Wouldn't a smellier turd get noticed more?

Say you have 2 turds but are forced to keep one. They are mostly the same but one smells less horrible. Wouldn’t you keep that less smelly one?

Depends very much on what you are keeping it for.

This is deep discussion. Balls deep.

So many variables as to which turd to keep.

Boyle looks like he could win a few games in this league in time to me.

Quick release, big arm, accurate. Fearless in pocket. NFL arm talent without a doubt.

I was just kidding, after laughing at your original comment. I've also heard people use the analogy of whoever walks backwards the slowest wins the race, which describes the National League Central this year, but that's a topic for another forum.

Boil isn’t a tire fire, but he’s erratic in his accuracy. Keizer is like 50% less accurate than Boil. Both kinda suck.

I hear Indy is looking for a backup QB. Maybe Gutekunst could trade him for a young former first round pick who's talented but grumpy and playing out of position.
