ITS GAMEDAY BABY!!!

Once again I am up in the wee hours. Walked the dogs at 4:30 am, now time to start the thread before I catch a nap.

So here we are about to meet the team everyone in Vegas suddenly loves (blach...I hated the Raiders already, now its unbearable.) I really don't want to lose this one as the gloating around town might cause me to act like the NBA defending commie China!!

Still hating the responsibility of the gameday thread, but I'll hope to suck it up another week since I hate the Raiders just slightly less than the Bears (which is like having "a little" gonorrhea)

I'm almost wondering if we would be better off if this were a road game. Oakland hasn't abandoned the Raiders, but the team seems distracted at home and actually has looked better on the road at times.

Gruden is playing to Carr's strength....or more specifically avoiding his weaknesses and is back to his dink and dunk roots. The top rookie running back is Josh Jacobs and he has provided a little spark for an otherwise below average offense. Darren Waller has been a boon to every fantasy owner lucky enough to stumble onto the now and future star at the TE position.

What does all this mean? Our LB and S play better be up to par. I think deferring if we win the toss and slapping a quick 3 and out on them could really get the Lambeau faithful into the game and take the starch outta Oakland's shorts right off. Normally a Gruden team wouldn't be as susceptible to highs and lows, but this team is young and emotional and is embracing physical raider football. Punching them in the nose fast will be big.

Another reason to defer is our WR situation. Allison and MVS are gametime decisions. I would expect one to sit, and neither to be 100%. Putting the offense right out there could have the exact effect on us that I wan to do to them.

Oakland is balanced on D...balanced as in below average vs. both the pass and run. With our lack of depth at WR I would expect the same mix of play calling we have witnessed so far. Lean on the run and short passes to RB's early and start to take shots when they try and take that away. See if we can take the safety help away so our damaged goods at WR get more favorable matchups.

I'm starting to think that the packers are really missing Big Bob Tonyan. When Mercedes starts making splash plays in the passing game you know Jimmy Graham is washed up. Honestly we are so spoiled to have a HOF QB that makes Allen Lazard look like Jordy Nelson for a quarter. Can it happen all game long?

Here is how I see this one playing out. I think we stymie their offense all game, but especially early. Our offense will get chances to wear them down. If we find the endzone in the first quarter it might get ugly. I'm thinking we take a 10 point lead into the half and it feels like more. The attrition will take over in the 2nd half and turn this into a blowout. Even though the pack will probably barely have a 2 score lead by the 4th quarter it will feel like they are in total control.

Final score Pack wins 31-10 with a dominant game that gets out of hand in the 4th.

Ok, Kickass, You're up.

P.S. I forgot to mention my biggest fear. The look ahead. Playing a below average AFC team the week after an emotional Monday night win (and the Raiders also being off a bye) can be very dangerous. Add to it that we play one of the Owl favorites next week (KC) and this could be the type of game a team comes out flat for. I'm hoping they are too focused on refining the offense and setting sack records to even realize they are supposed to be flat. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss....right Tex!!

Take it to the Fantasy Football board!

Hey, if I want backhanded insults about my TE choices in FF I'll just move up a couple of threads and talk to Shaky Smithson or Freak Out.

Packers win 25-19.

I find I quite agree with your assessments of both Tonyan and Tex. I believe that GB will carry the day and the Defense will lead the way. Jones and Williams should have moderate success running the rock as will Rodgers' passing the ball. For some reason I feel Kumerow and Lazard will both have above average performances. Also I feel that Graham will also enjoy success with a TD today.Ryan Grant may see a few plays and could catch 2 passes for 40 to 50 yds.
