This was floated out there a bit ago; I've thought all along he's the best guy out there and would be a perfect hire

I'm not sure it's pettine. Alexander is playing spot on zone coverage. I think it's that nobody else can play zone defense and the NFL is getting harder and harder to play man with the legal pick plays they allow now. That used to be opi and now it's allowed so most teams are zone now. And we don't gave the guys to play it.

La Fleur likely already knows if Quinn is the guy he would want. LaFleur was the QB coach in Atlanta for 2015-16 and would have seen Quinn's defense every day in practice.

They already have their next D coordinator on staff. Jerry Gray, the db coach.
