JJ Watt to the Cards. In the end, this was a lot about money. I don't see the Cards as serious SB threats. If they are, most are.

Appears to to the 2 years for 31 MIL

15.5 per is fairly expensive. Would have allowed us to hard target cb in the draft though and make it easier to find the draft capital for a wr.

He cared WAAAAAYYY more about the money then winning. Maybe Richard Sherman to take over for King.

I am still all about The Corey Davis plan, then draft a WR in one of rounds 1-3 and make this a position of strength again.

Sherman would be ok; I think I'd rather see Patrick Peterson if we're going the aging vet route at CB.

I was never convinced we were getting JJ Watt and I'm not sure I wanted to spend about 16MIL/Year to do it.

Apparently 23 MIL is guaranteed as a fyi

24 million guaranteed...hard to pass that by.

Cards get Hopkins for next to nothing last year and pick up JJ this year. Impressive gets.

I wonder if others were offering 15.5 a year. My get says no

Part of me has lost true faith in the goodness of humanity in sports. I still like JJ Watt but I'm not sure I'll silently cheer for him anymore.

He got filty frickin rich with the Texans and his 100 Million Dollar contract.

Everything about this was fulfilling his dram of winning a Super Bowl; his shot list of teams he was considering were all contenders.

JJ Watt, apparent number 1 goal, over money was to win a title. JJ Watt threw everything he said out the window, and completely changed as he went to the 4th best team in his own division.

This is what happened and I'm very bummed

ends up being way too much money for a player at his current level

if we had signed him for that, i would have called it a bad signing

it was a fun idea for a bit, time to move on

I'm not hating on any man getting the paper, but it's hard not to argue that there were better locations for securing a ring.
