Football Cards

OK, wasn't sure where this would go, it isn't political so maybe not FYI.

Do any of you folks collect football cards? I picked up a complete set of 1971 cards off Ebay last year and have been hitting the sports card shop every Thursday or Friday picking up 1972 cards. This would be right up Patler's wheelhouse.

Packer cards I got the last month from 1972:

i use to collect tons of cards, mostly baseball and basketball, with some football. started about 87 and went till maybe 91 or 92

card shop guys use to tell us that we could retire someday off our collections.

right now i got about 40,000 cards worth about $50 total

what a waste. but it was fun for awhile

I have a good Baseball card collection. The fact I have cards from 1886 increased the value. You are correct, the 1980s and 1990s the cards are almost worthless.

thats when the collecting boom happened

i always tell people, if someone makes and sells something to be a "collectable" it probably isn't ever gonna be worth anything

Yea, it's George "Doggie" Miller. PSA verified. It wasn't the most expensive, that was 1953 Mantle. Football cards are pretty cool though, they obviously don't go back that far.

I determined the all-time team for every team (best 53 Man roster, modern era), and I’ve collected every player on every team’s all-time team. I’m almost done, but there are a handful of guys I have not been able to find. Once I got a divorce and could waste money on whatever I wanted, this became a passion. :)
