So obviously I don't keep with with much other than the Packers themselves. So I am double-checking: did the NFL add an extra wild card team to each conference now?

Not sure what I think about that, if that is the case. Some years you might have a 10-7 team that otherwise might've stayed home, but then you might have some 9-8 teams that get in. And that just seems wrong. You get into the playoffs if you're slightly better than mediocre?

Started last year (with a 16 game season). The following graph, which is based on thousands of simulations, gives 10-7 teams a 91% of making playoffs. It drops to 50% for 9-8 teams.

According to above graph, Packers now with 96% chance of making the playoffs.
