Why is there a blackout in Chicago?

Why is there a blackout in Chicago?

They have a home game at 3, and the rule is that a network with a double header has to blackout the other game in the home market. I believe the rule is to encourage fans to go to the game because they won't be missing a game on tv.

Just paid 70 frogskins of my hard-earned, minimum-wage income for the YouTubeTV. Why?

The next 2 Monday Nite games seem interesting. Belles-Traitors; Rednecks-Muttonheads appear to be worthy of watching “live,” even though live on YouTubeTV is 45 seconds in the past.

Plus, it’s snowing in cold, dark and dull Wisconsin. I don’t feel like moving the antenna around the room every 15 minutes or so to get a clear signal.

This announcing crew on the Vikings-Lions game has mentioned the Vikings injuries at least 20 times in this game. We get it. They have injuries this week. I don't remember the announcers quite going on and on about all of our injuries (which we've had for most of the year). The Vikings offense should be good enough to overcome a couple of injuries and outscore the Lions.

MadScientist
12-05-2021, 02:36 PM
Lions stop the Vikings twice on two point conversions to keep a two point lead. Extra points would have tied it.

Kittens win!

Anti-Polar Bear
12-05-2021, 03:18 PM
See, gotta heed the math.

Had the kittens punted, high probability Queens woulda milked clock then kicked FG to win. Going for it on your own 28 with 4 minutes left forces the Queens to score either way (TD or FG) with more than enough time left to mount a comeback should you fail to convert.

Now, Bobble, the stage is yours. Please explain the logic behind the math. Use numbers and figures. Thanks.

Good to see the Vikings lose against Detroit. I have to think that ol' Zimmy's time in Minnesota (and I don't mean Robert Zimmerman) is winding down.

And I too am heartily sick of hearing about other teams' injury situations. Troy Aikman was going on and on and on about the Rams' injuries when they played the Pack. Stafford was playing hurt, oh my gosh, Robert Woods is such a big loss! Oh my gosh how can they compete?

Sheesh.

I’m looking forward to Bills/Patriots tonight. I’m obviously rooting for the Packers to win it, but if they can’t, I’m rooting for the Patriots just because I want to see Belichick win one without Brady.

The Patriots probably have the best defense in the league and that rookie QB caught on quickly. They’ve got a shot.

I like that the Lions, of all teams, really helped sink Minny's playoff chances, though of course they're not out of the running yet.

Still, 5 - 7 is not the record of a good team. It's funny - they seem to have the pieces but can't put them together.

Could be tough kicking and throwing the ball long in Buffalo tonight.

Holy crap. A non qb centric team like the Patriots probably have a slight advantage. But Josh Allen’s big arm might be an advantage to Jones average arm in the wind.

The Vikings are flawed, but their offense, specifically Jefferson and Cook (although he's hurt right now), make them dangerous. If you took away Jefferson and Cook, they would basically be the Lions.

RashanGary
12-06-2021, 04:45 PM
Hoody will be quick to adjust to the weather. He’ll play more single high and zero coverages and use the wind as his extra defender. I wonder if the Bills will be as quick to adapt.

This is McDermott's 5th season as Buffalo HC. I'm sure this isn't the 1st team he's encountered a windy day. I mean, they're right between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.

I'm really curious about Hoodie's process in drawing up tonight's game plan.

Did they look at the weather report last week and realize they weren't going to be able to throw the ball and cook the plan up last week?

Or does he have a file cataloging game plans according to conditions and like the Terminator he just goes through the menu for the correct choice?

I'm not a fan of the guy for the cheating shit, but games like tonight, I have to tip my hat to him.

Good showing from Pack and Patriots offenses, both, and we easily win. However, the Bills are capable of much more on offense, which would make a shootout with them a coin flip.

Poor tackler.

That game showed the importance of being able to run effectively and/or stop the run in bad weather. Patriots were able to just stick with the run because their RB's were averaging over 5 YPC. Bills had to try to throw more because their RB's were averaging 3.

I’m not surprised Hoody adjusted more abruptly to the conditions. It helped that they had a lead the whole game. That big run sort of opened the door for a conservative game plan the rest of the way.

This is correct. Do NOT watch the Manning cast if your team is in the game. If it's a game you are just casually watching with not much of a rooting interest, though, the Manning cast is way better than the regular version.

The only time I've watched it was when Tampa was playing. The brothers were so clearly rooting against Tampa, it was awesome and hilarious. There was virtually no pretense of objectivity.
