How about the "Commandos"? Then the fans could cheer "Let's go Commando!"

I saw a Washington Post article that the team is toying with "The Admirals." Ugh. Lots of bad jokes in there, poop deck and such.

I was in Baltimore this past summer, quite a bit. The fans I spoke to (lots of Skins fans between Baltimore and Washington) said the "Washington Football Team" had really grown on them.

honetsly, i would stick with "the washington football team"

i like it, its different then everything else

why do all american sports teams need goofy cartoonish nicknames?

George Cumby

I wonder what the goofy logo will look like and what they are going to use as their clownish mascot.

Yeah I kind of like Washington Football team. Why do teams need some nickname anyway? Just calling them `Washington` is sufficient IMO.

If this is it, it's pretty well done.

So the team went from using an overt racist name to using a subtle racist name.

It’s clear as day “Commenders” is not used in onour (who gives a fuck about the fucking h?) of Grant and his generals, especially Mike Sherman’s great, great uncle, Tecumseh Sherman, the inbred who burned down the lost city of Atlanta.

Instead, “Commenders” obviously is a shout out to Washington and his generals, all of whom were slave owners.

Shoulda gone with “Redcoats” in honour of the brave British troops who fought to preserve sophistication and sophistry in the Americas.

Future woke renaming poll:

Cowomanders
Copersonders

I don’t like 3+ syllable team names.

TB becomes Bucs
SF becomes Niners

What’s their shorthand. Comms?

Classic that their shorthand is about communication.

I like the new jerseys and helmets, but I also really like the old ones. Personally, I would have saw with WFT. I think it sounds better and kind of sounds a bit like a soccer club, which is also kind of cool I guess.

I really thought "Washington Football Team" grew on me and others. Commanders? Sounds like a name for a pretend team I came up with when I was eleven years old.

Or some shitty B-movie action flick that couldn't pony up the $ for the NFL to let them use one of their names.

Ok, ok, I admit I have a soft spot in my heart for 'The Last Boy Scout'.........

The new mascot doesn’t seem offensive at all…

Brilliant.....
Hey , the white people decided that Redskins is offensive.
So what do they do? Name the team after the white man's army that killed all the Indians.
Just like Bullets.it promotes violence amongst the black race. They decide on the name Wizards. A high rank in the KKK lol.

All this to distract you from sending troops to Russia...with bullets..those things they used alot of , to kill indians.
