Our OL coaches should be able to do some magic with Rhyan.

Damn. Can't win'em all hahahaha. I really didn't want an O Lineman.

Do you ever want an O Lineman?

rhyan is a guy who played tackle his whole career but might be a starter at guard from day 1

we probably just killed his career by making him our 3rd round draft pick

I figured OL with all the edge gone. Definitely can use some help there. An OL, a DL: I like.

draft ace had him as the #6 tackle in the draft

Somebody is gonna have to play RT until Elgton comes back from his injury. That somebody will be either Newman or Runyan, most likely, so we did need a guard in the short term. If he's ready to go day 1, it's a good thing for the offense.

Maybe 5-7th round hahahaha.

I didn't like this pick position-wise, but I do like that he seems to be a road grader type O Lineman, the type I prefer. Also, the flexibility is good.

I would rather have the high quality OL prospect.

It feels like Hoodie is disinterested in the draft this year. He may acquire every 7th round pick this year if he keeps trading back.

If anyone can break the Packers 3rd round jinx, it's a guy who played LT in college who is being projected to G. Packers specialty.

4. SEAN RHYAN, UCLA (6-4 1/2, 323, 5.23, 2-3): Started all three years at LT before declaring a year early. Doesn’t have great arm length (32 3/8), one scout said. “He’s not a top-flight, athlete-movement guy but he’s always on his feet. He plays big. He can drive guys off the ball. In pass pro, he’s just so big that it’s hard to get around him. He’s a starting right tackle, and a good one. I could see why people would want to move him to guard right away but I would try him at tackle first.” Led the guards in the vertical jump (34 1/2). Wonderlic of 29. “Looks like it comes really easy to him,” a second scout said. “He’s thick, but super light on his feet. He’s got good quickness. I’d call him more finesse than power. He’s not lacking in toughness but he’s just not nasty and isn’t a guy that wins with power. He wins with athleticism and technique. There’s no way he makes it out of the second round.” From Ladera Beach, Calif.

lindy's had him as the #2 guard, with a first or second round grade

so i'd say we got a decent one

Hoodies 1st round pick was a severe head scratcher

On the other hand, Harvey only had him as #8 IOL. Had him a 3-4 round pick.

He went late 3rd, so I was spot on. :)

It was a tough eval. I don't think he's an NFL LT, but that's where he played last year. It was hard for me to tell how well he'd projected to OG in the NFL. He certainly had the athletic traits, but his pass sets at LT were a mess.

Lions are having a hell of a draft.

Since last year, Lions are showing signs of knowing what they are doing.

WANT TO CONGRATULATE LEO for getting picked by KC Chiefs. Should see lots of winning and extra $$ from playoffs
