Kingsley Enagbare LB, SC
Height: 6-4, Weight: 255

Big, long chiseled EDGE. Slightly above average across the board with hand work, burst, and bend. Can get skinny through a gap and has a nice arm over. High-floor rusher because of his frame and length.

Rating: 84.04 (Long-term starter)

Pro Comparison: K'Lavon Chaisson

Strengths:

High-end athleticism that will stress slower offensive tackles who rely on physicality to mask their athletic limitations. Can be disruptive in passing lanes even if he can't get to quarterback, and when he pass-rushes with a purpose he can do some damage -- he has speed to turn the corner, has moves to knock the offensive tackle off balance, and is bendy enough to get to the quarterback.

Weaknesses:

Sometimes his lack of strength shows up on tape, and he will struggle to disengage from blocks. Can dominate and then disappear for stretches, and while he has the speed and bend to beat OTs around the edge, there are just flashes; he needs to do it more consistently.

Pff have him as the 52nd best prospect with a high 80 pass rush grade. Hope they aren't wrong. Great upside for a 5th rd pick and with gary and p smith his job should be easier.

this guy seems like a steal for a 5th round pick

ldys has him as the #8 DE just behind jermaine johnson and right before george karlaftis

Hard to feel bad about spending a 5th on a guy like him. We needed a new Kingsley anyway.

Pre-Draft Analysis
Enagbare is still developing as a hand fighter in rushing the passer, but he's long with heavy hands. He flashes powerful push-pull and swipe moves. He lacks closing speed and leaves too many sacks on the field due to poor tackling. Enagbare has the upper-body strength to get off blocks and pursue. If he learns to play with better leverage, he'll become a strong edge setter. -- Steve Muench

While far from the most crucial need and playing in an area of relative strenght (this season anyway) I am the most excited about this pick from our draft.
I think its the late round / high upside aspect. If he fails, meh, but if he can become an ok starter I will be very happy.

He's like a Preston Smith type with worse agility. Big dude, long arms. They'll teach him to hold the edge and he'll be fine.
GB's EDGE rushers aren't speedy guys who bend like Gumby, they like big dudes who can bull rush.

First team All-SEC and a team captain.
He'll fit in and be nice depth - they need quality in their 2nd wave of EDGE rushers. Probably will be paired with Garvin or Ramsey.

With the secondary GB has on paper, improving the pass rush is a smart and fun idea. Especially if you enjoy watching GB terrorize NFCN QBs

Just an average RAS score due to poor agility grades. Maybe that's why he fell. CBS had him #61 overall. There's some things to work with here though.

PFF liked the pick a lot.

Round 5, Pick 179: Kingsley Enagbare, EDGE, South Carolina
We knew that a big EDGE was near the top of the list for the Packers in terms of needs. But rather than rushing the subject, they played the value of the board, addressed other positions, and came back to EDGE at the end of Round 5 with Kingsley Enagbare.

Enagbare is a great fit for what the Packers look for in their edge rushers. His 4.98 40-yard dash might have hurt him, but Enagbare is a powerful defender with elite length and strong hands. He also has impressive ankle flexion for his 6-4, 271-pound frame. He can dip a little bit and shrink his surface area. He’s not overly fast or explosive, but he still has a lot in his toolbox. The Packers get an arguable top-100 talent here.

Grade: A+

Not sure why his 40 time is all over the place (not just in this PFF blurb), but he ran an official 4.87 40 time at the scouting combine.

I think they see him as a Big Z type. Somebody that is going to win with power and his hands. His arm length helps. Those were some of the longest arms in this EDGE class.

Enagbare = 6'4" 258, 34 3/4" arms, 4.87 40, 1.67 10yd split, 4.54 shuttle, 7.51 3 cone, 36.5" vert, 117" broad jump, 6.17 RAS
Big Z = 6'4" 274, 32 5/8" arms, 4.83 40, 1.74 10yd split, 4.66 shuttle, 7.42 3 cone, 29" vert, 113" broad jump, 3.73 RAS

PFF might have got his numbers mixed up with someone else, because they had him listed at 271 lbs. The 4.87 40 appears right.

Yeah. I like his game. Maybe we can start drafting and developing edge in rounds 2 to 4.
