In case you wanna know...

Cornerbacks Mike Hawkins and Jason Horton worked out in Cleveland; cornerback Joey Thomas, cut by the Saints, worked out for Detroit; and offensive lineman Will Whitticker tried out with the New York Jets.

Kubiak raved about Samkon Gado in his first practice as a Texan Thursday but said "all of them will play" vs. the Colts Sunday and that the back with the hot hand will end up with the most carries.

I know I'm gonna miss Gado - for a long time. No knock on Morency though.

Gado will be the starting back for the Texans (that's a prediction, not fact).

We'll soon find out if he was a flash in the pan, or if he's the real deal.

I'll miss him either way though, that guy's a class act.

I was thinking of all the ex-Packers that are still making a decent go of it in the NFL.

Darren Sharper
Mike Wahle
Ryan Longwell
Craig Hendrich
JAvon Walker
Vonnie Holiday
Mark Roman
Mike McKenzie
Vonta Leach
Mark Brunell
Mike Flanagan
Grady Jackson
Roy Manning
Ben Steele
Nail Diggs
Adam Timmerman
Corey Bradford
Paris Lenon
Barry Stokes
Ross Verba
Marco Rivera
Scottie Vines, sorta
Aaron Brooks
Allen Rossum
Matt Bowen
Tony Fisher
Grey Reugamer
Bahwah Jue
Joe Andruzzi

And I said to myself, "Myself, that's a lot of former Packers floating around the league." Of course I didn't forget a single one. Right?

There is NO WAY he will beat out Lundy.

oh ya, I forgot about Hasselbeck! The best castoff of them all.

The Castaways might very well beat our current team. Gado & Davenpoop split time at RB. Of course Ben Steele at TE might be a sore spot.

The Castaway Team is a stunner! It doesn't look like a Super Bowl team but its not too bad of a team at all.

Do y'all think this a parlor trick you can do with any team's castoffs, or does the high number of relatively talented former players reflect some aspect of our team's cap issues, or its GM philosophy, or a diminishing attraction of Green Bay as an NFL destination?

Swede, I think what it means is that NFL players move around a lot.

Hell, the Castaways have Adam Timmerman as a backup O-lineman. Add Hunter Hillenmeyer as reserve linebacker. They've got depth.

Aaron Brooks and Kurt Warner were also in Green Bay early in their careers, although I don't believe either took a snap in a regular season game.

Interesting thread.
