Just from watching the game, I would guess that the DT's did not do so good. Pretty damning for the TE's that other then The Luxury Automobile, the rest of the group stunk it up. When does Newman get replaced at guard ? Jenkins gets a pass since it was his first game back from the acl.

Deguara's strength was supposed to be his blocking.

I focused on him several times. Meh.

I'm disappointed in Slaton. He was supposed to come on this year - make that year 2 leap - but he looks sluggish and for such a big guy, gets pushed around or manipulated. I am disappointed in him, especially.

And Deguara, too, yes. He has not done much. Tonyan I'll give a pass too, as he's coming back from injury. I did see him throw a nice block on Jones's TD run. But he looked a little sluggish on one of his catches.

Not at all disappointed in Deguara; he was never that good. I was disappointed in the draft choice. Was he round 3 ? If he was that needs no further explanation

Sometimes, these PFF numbers don't correlate very well with what seems observable.

Degaura's grade isn't even that bad. It's below average, but serviceable. Not every draft pick becomes Elgton Jenkins.

But most Packer third round picks end up in the toilet.

They seem pretty spot on to me. AJones was clearly the best player on our team. Our TEs kinda blew. Jenkins wasn't good as he was shaking off rust. The only thing that wasn't apparent in those rankings was Gary played poorly. He made a few splash plays, but must have gotten washed in a lot of run plays that I just didn't equate to him.

The only one I'd strongly dispute is Lowery. Sure, he made some tackles, but he got pushed back badly and made most of those tackles too far downfield.

In year's past, it was very obvious when Gary would set the edge. It would jump out of the screen at me.

I wasn't paying as much attention to him this game, but I didn't see that part of his play.

Is he getting pushed around because Reed and Wyatt are getting handled by single players and he's facing an uphill battle and keyed against?

I don't know, Smuggler. I don't watch that closely on a position group and don't probably have the expertise. But I'd like to hear from the folks here who do pay attention to such things. If it is the case, I would be disappointed in Reed - I thought he was really going to solidify this group. Wyatt, as a rookie - well, that will take a bit of time.

I just watched some all 22 footage of the Bears oline, and I see a few times where obvious holds were not called. Clark was tackled on a play, Lowry was being bear hugged on another. Tevin Jenkins seems to like to grab guys by there shoulder pads and drive them back and turn them. ( I thought you couldn't grab the pads and use them to gain leverage ? ? ) Mustipher was hanging on Clark like a burrdock on a dog.

If they're being held, it means they're causing problems for the o-line, so that's a good sign. Not as good as batting passes, causing hurried throws, and strip sacks, but still.

No. He's signed through 2024.
