Just wondering who is your favorite top 3 college team.
Ill start off
1. Florida State-parents went there
2. Texas Longhorns- Brother goes there
3.Miami Hurricanes-When you live in miami, how could you hate the hurricanes?

Wisconsin (for the same reason as everyone else)
Maryland (two members of family went there)
UF-Gators (cause I used to live nearby and just couldn't root for the 'Noles.)

1.) Iowa State - How can your college not be #1?
2.) Wisconsin - I'd have gone there if they offered my major
3.) Tough call...tie between Notre Dame and Texas (I'd like to go to grad school at UT)

NB, I think your list equates to my three most hated teams!
(You gotta be loyal to your home team, though.)

Wisconsin Badgers-I lived 200 ft away from Camp Randall Stadium for 3 years. I threw a keg party for every home game. I had a 3 story beer bong hanging off of the front of my house for every home game. I went to almost every game during that time. I traveled to the Pasedena for the 99' Rose bowl.

Ohio State is #1, far and away.
I've always liked LSU also. Nebraska to a lesser extent.
I've rooted for Wisconsin since Bollinger went there.
Now, I have to root for South Carolina also (my wife has family from S.C., and really likes it down there, so she makes me root for the Carolina teams).
NDSU.

Who I root for in the big rivalries:
Ohio State over Michigan
Florida State over Miami (Fla)
Auburn over Alabama
Army over Navy
Nebraska over Oklahoma over Texas
Georgia over Florida
California over Stanford
Others:
Texas A&M over Texas
Washington over Washington State
Oregon State over Oregon
South Carolina over Clemson
Iowa State over Iowa
Arizona State over Arizona
Hate both teams:
Notre Dame vs. USC
UCLA vs. USC
Florida vs. Tennessee

Since I have never even seen a game, my choices are personally flawed!
My MBA program is from the U of Minnie, so Gophers 1st, Badgers 2nd...
Harvey, you hurt me

Well, I'm neither Catholic nor grew up in a Notre Dame household, so picture me tired of seeing all of these average, and sometimes bad, Notre Dame teams the last 10-15 years hogging my TV channels when there could be a good game on instead.
i'm not catholic, or in a ND house hold...

Favorite team has to be BUCKY.
Other than Wisconsin, Id root for Florida State (my sister) but they are a far 2nd behind UW.
Actually i'm German. I can't explain why i fell in love with Notre Dame. I loved them when i was very young, and just kind of held on. OH, this might be sad but the first time i really started watching them, they won a National Championship that year, 1988 i believe...so maybe that had to do somethign with it...but now Notre Dame and me are just kind of 1 for 1 with all of my friends and so on because my initials are also ND.

Why didn't you get behind North Dakota?
didn't know who North Dakota was  they werent' on tv  and trust me, i got enough ripping...i have a ND tattooed on my arm, only for my name sake, and we played North Dakota....that was a long game, lots of trash talk.

I was raised Catholic AND and I am of Irish ancestry but I also do not like Notre Dame. I haven't anything against the institution, the coaches, or the players. I just resent their game being on national TV almost every Saturday.

Little Whiskey

i will always root for Big Whiskey (see the thread in the romper room about nicknames), but not a huge college football fan. but since i live relatively near to southbend i will take them as #2, and had a bunch of friends went to Mich State so i'll take them as 3.
my wife works for the local radio stations and they have ND season tickets. well, we were asked to go to the ND vs USC game this past year, 4 rows behind ND bench. and to rub it in a little more ND72, we also had NBC hospitality tent passes. met ricky waters, joe montana, tim brown. again i'm not a huge college fan, and if my wife's boss were not with us i would have sold those tickets quicker than you could blink. and i felt a little guilty walking into the game as i knew there were many ND fans who would have traded their first born to have those tickets. even new cars don't depreciate as much as those pieces of paper did as we walked thru the turn styles

Notre Dame is on every saturday because they have a TV contract. don't hate a university for being smart and taking a multimillion dollar deal with NBC when they come knocking on their door.

Nominally, I guess I'm a Hawkeye fan, since I went to Iowa. But actually, I used to be glad when they lost because you could get more NFL news then.
My favorite team is any team Bob Knight or Bobby Bowden coach or who Larry Bird plays on.

Favorite team:
Wisconsin (alma mater)
don't really care after that. Kinda 'supported' the Big Ten in CBB until the last tournament. We rocked both sides of the Hockey world this year. In CFB, its only the Badgers.
Least favorite team:
Minnesota (dislike Minnesota on some many levels; professional, collegiate, tourists, etc...)
Michigan
OSU
Iowa

Listening to Canadians, North Dakotans, Minnesotans and Wisconsinites all badmouth each other is like listening to the Norwegians, Danes and Swedes commenting on each other.
They do have some differences in style, but come on. They talk alike, look alike, think alike.
My father is from Norway and I speak norsk.

Not to sure about that. Being an Indian/native American, I think they would say they look/sound anything like me. But I'm just going on my own experiences, I could be wrong.
I donno...i went to school in Minnesota for 5 years, and they were different than a lot of wisconsin people i konw. but of course, we were probably different than a lot of hte minnesota people they know. I lived in a boarder town, so that changes a lot of things as well. it was a very mixed community. but different than around the GB/Appleton/Oshkosh area. Heck, La Crosse can even be different.

Outsiders can't tell the difference. I had a former co-worker from New York. He got a kick out of the hatred between Wisconsin and Minnesota people. He said that other than the teams they root for, they are the same damn people. Same heritage, same dialect, both even have 10,000 lakes.
:D
we're so alike is probably why we hate eachother.
