5 teams in playoffs that have never won a Super Bowl. Jaguars, Bengals, Bills, Chargers and Vikings. Probably Bills and Bengals with best chance to end the drought.

Divisional round is IMO the best round of the playoffs. Do others prefer wildcard or championship weekend? I can't decide which one I like better.

Wildcard generally isn't very good, IMO.

I'm with you, I prefer the Divisional round.

These matchups are quite lackluster. The only game I have interest in watching is TB-Dallas. The Jags have a chance, merely because the Chargers were complete dumb fucks for playing their best players in a meaningless game and lost a very good WR to injury. I don’t give Seattle, New York, Miami or Baltimore anything more than very very slim chances of an upset.

I would agree except I can't think of one single aspect of football that Seattle is better at than SF. You could argue the QB is better just based on experience, but my eyes say different.

So from a gambling aspect I like SF and Jacksonville moneyline today.

I rarely would lay 9.5 between division rivals, but playoffs are subtly different. Seattle isn't good. They aren't even better than GB was this year to be honest. They went cold late in the season. I think Shannahan runs it up on them. Seattle will be lucky to get double digits.

Jacksonville is at home and frankly the better team imo. They are getting points against a SD team that has disappointed all season? Makes no sense to me. Lawrence looked like the real deal this year. Herbert looked way overhyped. Skill positions are similar. Defenses are similar. Doug Pederson is a great coach. I'll take the home team that is ascending all day.

Seahawks trade away the franchise QB...get a haul for it and still make the playoffs. Schneider has to be GM of the year right? Tons of rookies starting for SEA. 49ers should crush them but hey...hell of a job.

Dude looked good as a freshman, but his tape got worse as his career went on. I also think people thought he had weapons that made him look better than he was (Breece Hall + 2 drafted TEs). He kind of has the same thing going for him with SF (McCaffrey, Deebo, Kittle, Aiyuk, Trent Williams, etc.)

Packers would've gotten blown out.

I'm not so sure. Packers played Buffalo and Philadelphia on the road and hung in those games despite getting off to bad starts. Packers weren't good this year, but they weren't a doormat either.

Oh, was there football yesterday? I guess somebody plays today too hahahahaha. The season's hanging by a thread right now for me. If/when the Cowboys lose, and their chances make even me unoptimistic, I will tune out completely. Good riddance, NFL, until the Packers are back playing.

bobblehead
01-15-2023, 11:58 AM
So thought I would check in with my breakdown of the games today. I don't love any of the lines, but since I am an action junkie I bet a 3 team teaser. Played Cincy, NY and Buffalo.

I think Harbaugh will muddy up this game to high hell and it will be horrible watching it. In the end I think he may cover 9, but I doubt he can make me lose at 3. Worst case I can see is a push, but I think its more likely to be around 7 in the end as the lack of a QB vs the best young QB in the game will write the story.

MN is an enigma. I want to believe they are for real, but this is just a bad matchup. A team that generates good interior pressure against a team that can't stop it. Cousins is not going to be comfortable today and he needs a reasonable pocket to be effective. Tack on a really bad defense and I like the Giants getting 8.5. If I had bet it yesterday I could have gotten 9.

Finally the HUGE favorite. Buffalo probably will cover the 14, but I just can't lay that wood. However Miami is bad on the road and even though Bridgewater is active, I think he'll be limited. Miami is up and coming with a couple great WR, but they just don't have the guns. Buffalo will be hyper focused with it being a playoff game. Like SF yesterday, Buffalo is better in every area except starting 2 WR. Even there, the gap is covered up by the 3/4s. I think its a blowout of at least the 8 I'm laying.

Thats it. Happy gameday rats.

Vikings defense has just been bad at times this year and this game is in line with that. Fortunately for the Purple People, they have an offense that could respond.

The Giants are pesky team in the playoffs.

When did Daniel Jones turn into Lamar Jackson?

He's got the highest top speed of any QB in the league. I thought that was pretty well known. He just doesn't have the other movement skills of Lamar.

I've watched a lot of Bengals vs Ravens games in the past few years and each time I become sad. It reminds me of draft day, that dark day when Gutebag decided to trade up. When it happened, we were all like WTF and in my mind, I though, maybe we're going up and getting Patrick Queen, a future dominant ILB whose speed can make up for so many deficiencies. OR is a draft absolutely loaded with WR's, Tee Higgins Seemed to be a very obvious guy who could undoubtedly help out team at WR. We drafted neither and have watched them both develop into very very stellar players while the guy who we traded up for sits on our bench, and is likely to be asking for a trade behind closed doors this year.
How the future could have been different if we went another way with one of these two
