The rulebook refers to this as a palpably unfair act. It's (up to) a 7-point penalty. In the case of the try, if the towel had contacted the ball in flight, it should be a 1-point penalty. If the kick was missed, it would still be 18-17. Since it was made, if the towel had hit the ball, it would be 19-17.

A lot of laundry on the field today: 11 penalties for GB, 7 for the Saints.
Many of GB's penalties were the stupid kind, Saints were grabby/aggressive in the secondary and it got them a couple of times.

DeVondre Campbell, Carrington Valentine, Zach Tom all injured. GB is extremely lucky to be so deep at OT that they can put Njiman out there as their #4 OT and not get embarrassed... although the OL wasn't great today.
This is a young team and it's going to cause heartburn at times.

Yea, what was up with the dude pinning Doubs arm on one play, then smacking Reed in the facemask on another both with no call? Early the Aints got all the calls, but when the NFL needed their exciting finish all of a sudden we got a legit call, and one I didn't think was a penalty. Not that I'm implying a conspiracy or anything......
