Week 1: Packers lead 24-14 and score 14 to blow out the Bears
Week 2: Packers had a 12 point lead, allow 13 and lose by 1 point to the Falcons. Defensive loss
Week 3: Packers down 17 points and score 18 unanswered in the 4th Q vs the Saints. Love Comeback #1
Week 4: Blown out by Lions
Week 5: Packers allowed a TD at the start of the Q to the Raiders. Love throws two INTs and lose by 4. Failed comeback
Week 6 - BYE
Week 7: Down 16-10 to the Broncos, Love leads a 6min, 66 yard TD Drive. Defense gives up a FG. Love throws an INT after being in 3rd and 20 and needing just a FG to retake the lead. Both a 4th comeback and loss.
Week 8 and 9 - blowout loss (Queens) and win (Rams)
Week 10: Trailing the Steelers by 1 point into the 4th q, the Packers punted twice before allowing a FG. Needing a TD, Love drove the team 2x for 60+ yard drives that ended with 2 INTs (one in the endzone, the other more of a fail mary). Failed comeback
Week 11: Packers took a 3pt lead into 4th vs the Chargers and allowed a go ahead TD. Love brings them back and matches it for another TD pass to win. Love Comeback #2
Week 12: Packers had control of the Lions and didn’t have to do much
Week 13: Packers had a narrow 2 pt lead early in the 4th against the champs and put 2 FGs to make it an 8pt game.
Week 14: Packers trailed by 8 vs the Giants and needed a FG and a TD drive but fail on a 2pt conversion. Defense then lets Devito walk down the field in 90seconds to lose on a kick. Both a 4th Q comeback and a loss.
Week 15: Packers were down 10 and trimmed it to one score with a short FG vs the Bucs but team imploded on Defense with a 52yr TD and Loves fumble too then run out the clock.
In summary:
Love has had 6 comeback attempts
In 4 of those games he’s led the Packers to take the lead but only won 2 (Week 7 and 14 being on the Defensive lapse)
In the other 2 (Week 5 and 10), he tossed two INTs in each game
Which one of those hurt more / Raiders, Steelers, Giants or Broncos, why?
Or is blowing a lead worse - like the Falcons game?
It’s hard to argue that Week 3 isn’t the most impressive comeback - but what other 4th Q was notable (Chargers or Giants)?
At least this seasons been mostly close and signs of hope for the future.
