I have not verified this myself. Since I read this in one of the independent articles that pop up in my browser, I cannot attest to its accuracy. but....

Even playing as little as he has, Christian Watson has more career receiving TDs than any other player drafted in 2022 or 2023.

Watson has 12 TDs on just 69 receptions. By way of comparison, Garrett Wilson has 7 TDs in 178 receptions.

Looks like you copied the 22 TE number for LaPorta and Addison PFR has it as
LaPorta - 86/10
Addison - 70/10
Reed - 64/8

Thanks for the correction. As I was doing it something seemed wrong, so I "corrected" it, and still got it wrong!

It should be correct now, and I added Reed in my latest revision.

Looking at the numbers by others in comparison, it sure makes me hope that Watson has come to a fix for his hamstring issues. Then, if he can improve his hands....

His hands are fine, people are just jaded because of that very first pass. This is also the reason I chose Watson in the thread about the one guy to build the WR room around. He is still uber talented on a scale that is hard to comprehend.

None of their other WRs has as big of an change in the offense between when they're available and not available.

I'm not saying he's a better WRs than the rest, but they don't have another WR that can get over the top of the defense like he can. When he's out, it changes the offense more than when one of the other WRs is out.

No, not "fine" but not horrible. In 2022 he was 80th of 84 receivers targeted 48 or more times, but his drop rate was "only" about 10%. Missing as much time as he did, just a couple plays make significant difference.

His first game, first play drop was bad, but easily attributable to nerves. The two drops against Dallas were worse imho. It's probably not "hands" as much as "focus". A couple drops this year were the same, not concentrating on catching through completion of the act of catching. It's not the ability, it's the performance.

I read that Watson had a 12.9% drop rate in college. I don't think he's done anything in the pros to shake off his drop reputation yet.

I also remember being ready to move on from Davante heading into year 3 because of all his drops. Now I'm inclined to be a little more patient on that particular issue.

I post back and forth with his dad. Told his dad I didn’t have ultra savvy red zone target on my CW bingo card. So yeah, it’s observable that he’s been a ridiculously effective red zone target so far.

According to Pro Football Reference, Christian Watson with the Packers has 12 TD receptions and 7 drops. I'll take that ratio.

Yeah, the TD's are crazy. Hope he's got the hamstring thing dialed in now.
