All-time series: Packers lead all-time series 29-18, 28-16 in regular season, 1-2 in playoffs.

Last meeting: November 27, 2022. Eagles defeated the Packers 40-33. Eagles rushed 49 times for 363 yards and 3 TD's led by Jalen Hurts with 157 yards and Miles Sanders with 143 yards. For the Packers, Aaron Rodgers threw for 140 yards with 2 TD's and 2 INT's before leaving the game with an injury. Jordan Love came in and completed 6 of 9 passes for 113 yards and 1 TD. Christian Watson caught 4 passes for 110 yards and 1 TD.

Eagles come into the game as one of the most unpredictable teams in the NFL. Last year the Eagles were 10-1 before falling apart, winning just 1 game the rest of the way. Their season ended with a terrible 32-9 playoff loss to Tampa Bay.

A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith are both 1000+ yards receivers. The Eagles signed former Giants RB Saquon Barkley in the offseason to replace D'Andre Swift. The retirement of C Jason Kelce is a key loss.

Eagles favored by 2.5.

Moneyline: Eagles -152, Packers plus +128

Over/under: 48.5

Damn, week 1 is upon us. This offseason went fast, maybe because there is so much to look forward to.

I’m just not feeling that this game will be close. The NFL does like making calls to keep primetime games interesting so maybe.

FWIW, Packers depth chart, which was updated yesterday, has Sean Rhyan as starter at RG. Morgan is listed as the backup at LG and RG. Marshawn Lloyd listed as backup to Jacobs. https://www.packers.com/team/depth-chart

I would think that the rookie, Morgan, was really set back by his training camp injury and doesn't have the reps under his belt to be ready - and maybe he's still not 100%. I'm surprised that Transmission Wilson isn't listed as the #2 back.

Now I gotta sign up for Peacock so I can see the game.

Nice, we will get to see Lloyd right away. I predict he scores a TD while Jacobs settles for only 100yds.

I put 50 on mybookie about a decade ago before the legal sites were around and I just want to be done with that site. I’ve gambled for a decade on that $50. Just dropped what’s left ($142) on love to win mvp. Well a few weeks ago I did. So I’m hoping Love makes a good impression to start his mvp bid on Friday Night.

Lloyd was limited in practice. I anticipate he will be inactive for Week 1 and they will elevate someone from the practice squad, or just go with Jacobs and Wilson.

Not the degenerate gambling thread, but...

That's a good spread to bet the Packers this week. They ended the year hotter and it's not a home game for Philly.

Would you consider cashing it out if he has a strong start?

Unless you're in Green Bay or Milwaukee area.

For fans in Wisconsin, the game will air on WGBA-TV Channel 26 in Green Bay and WTMJ-TV Channel 4 in Milwaukee. That’s it.

Given how limited Lloyd's practices have been, my guess if that - if he's active at all - they'll only have a couple of packages in for him, and he'd only be in for a handful of plays. If he plays at all.

I'm thinking the Packers' offense is going to be kinda wonky for the first few games. Tom's been hurt for some of training camp, and Morgan's been hurt - they haven't been able to work all together too much, I don't think.

My initial disappointment in our draft class was due to the fact that we wasted the 2nd and 3rd round drafting guys from position that were considered weak in this draft. Now its injuries. Morgan, Cooper and Lloyd all missed enough time to hamper development. I've read nice fluff about Bullard, but we haven't gotten to see him play and I've read nicer things about Evan Williams (besides being named after hard liquor).

No worries though as last years class was a draft for the ages. My biggest disappointment is Morgan (who I wanted) because this means we are trotting out the same OL as last year and we really needed to improve it.

If Payton Wilson balls out this week I'll be even more upset that we used a premium pick on Cooper and then drafted Hopper ahead of Wilson.

Oh well, beat the Eagles and all is well.

Game would be moved back to Philly.

Not likely. Is the wildfire burning down the entire city of São Paulo? The NFL loves these international games. They wouldn’t move it back to Philly unless the stadium was on fire.

Rookie MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) not with the running back group during pre-practice stretch. He was on the stationary bike and looks like a no go after practicing the last two days.

Everyone else went outside to practice.

First injury report for GBvPHI out later today.

Yeah, I don't think you'll see much of him unless something goes very wrong. You have Jacobs and Wilson, there shouldn't be a need to rush him onto the field.

NFL doesn't disappoint in selling out for money. Brazil is corrupt and dangerous. Eagles aren't leaving the airport other than the game. Packers are telling players not to leave the hotel. Brazil has banned Twitter/X with something like $9000 fine per offense. I wonder if Jaire got the message. No fun league indeed. At least we can assume no one is out partying Thursday night.

Indeed. There are a number of NFL cities with higher crime rates than Sao Paulo. Packer fans would probably be in more danger if they moved the game to Philadelphia.

As always seems to be the case, the Packers' injury report is longer than their opponents'.

Now Tucker Kraft has a back issue? After not being on the injury report on Tuesday?

That eleven-hour flight will be fun for him and his newly-injured back.

Maybe he will get dibs on the emergency exit row. Then he can get a Brazilian massage to end up happy for the game.

They must be bored out of their skulls about now. Jaire’s probably trying to join the mile-high club about now.

Don’t be ignorant. Now, I ain’t ever been to Baltimore personally, but I believe in the song, a song in which my beloved Coldplay covered:

Well I sold the farm to take my woman
Where she used to be
We left our kin and all our friends
Back there in Tennessee
And I bought those one way tickets
She had often begged me for
And they took us to the streets of Baltimore
Well her heart was filled with gladness
When she saw those city lights
She said the prettiest place on earth was
Baltimore at night

These first-games-of-the-season, it's impossible to have any idea how any of the game might go.

My guess - a guess, for sure - is that the Packers' offense won't be gelling, what with the new RB, the sudden Kraft injury, the lack of time together playing on the offensive line. And defensively, I know, it's supposed to allow the players to not have to think so much, but it still is a new defense. I'm hoping there's none of that eye-rolling and finger-pointing and heated discussions amongst defensive backs after a coverage is blown and the Iggles get a sixty-yard TD pass.

I have no idea.

Go Pack go.

Injury updates
After practice, quarterback Jordan Love and some other players will speak with the media. The Packers also have to release the injury report, with designations for tomorrow's game. So we will have a better idea of who will be available.

But tight end Tucker Kraft practiced and looked fine after being added to the injury report on Wednesday because of a back injury. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs practiced without any hand protection, so he will most likely be good to go as well.

"Hand protection" - if I were Doubs, I'd trot out onto the practice field with a condom slipped over a couple of fingers.

Hope the plane ride didn't mess up Kraft's back any more. Funny, most of us seem more pumped about Kraft than the earlier pick, Musgrave. Musgrave seems to have a little bit of that Richard Rodgers "hit me and I'll drop like a sack of potatoes" element to him.

Kraft will be a fan favorite because of his physical play, especially his ability to break tackles. Musgrave is an add one. An athletic guy with seam-busting speed who has trouble staying on his feet even before contact. Together, they're a really good duo.
