Dillard was active week 1, but did not play even on special teams.
Telford and Glover were inactive week 1.
Dillard was not listed on injury reports during week 2.
Dillard was inactive week 2.
Telford was active week 2, and DID play on special teams (perhaps because Morgan was injured?)

Apparently, Dillard is not the clear "next best" of the group including Dillard, Telford and Glover.

... or was it because Telford is thought to be a better run blocker?

You might think so, but with that line of reasoning, I thought Malik Heath would play a lot against the Colts. But I don't think he got any offensive snaps at all.

So I have no idea, except that if Dillard really was the "next man up" at the tackle spots, you'd think he'd be active.

It could be that Telford is needed on ST more than Dillard is needed as backup tackle. If one of the starting tackles, you know . . . if something happened, maybe they've got a plan to move Jenkins to tackle or something. But then who'd play his guard spot, if Rhyan is at right guard?

Tricky.

It has to do with ST and the fact that Jenkins is at least as good at swing T as Dillard.

Telford is better at ST than Dillard???

My guess is Telfort is better at run blocking, and they were going in with a run-heavy game plan.
I think Dillard is at best a backup LT, I don't think he can play RT well. (I'm not even sure he can play LT well.)

Telfort has more upside, Dillard looks the part but after 5-6 seasons he is what he is.
