He better be Good when Packer fans start that obvious chant. No more Narveson, Brandon McManus, late of Jacksonville and Washington reprtedly is signed.
I can't believe I actually beat Joe posting this hahahaha ....... or is it in some other thread.
The 'Skins cut him after alleged inappropriate sexual behavior on a flight to or from London. Not sure what that was. I doubt there were women present. I hope he's not a switch hitter. Could he possibly have been reddening the skin of his commander - a little public DIY?

He’s an upgrade, unless you are an airline stewardess.

The Packers are just showing off with this "Kicker of the Month Club" they've got going on.

If he does well? It's:
"Way to go McMANus!"
And it's REALLY easy to make fun of the guy if he sucks at kicking.
"Oh sure. Way to go McANUS!"
...unless Fritz inevitably invents some super superior salaciously stylish nickname.

Funny, if you combine McMan with McAnus, you get Vince McMahon.
Allegedly, MaMahon shit the bed - literally - during a threesome with Brock Lesner and a chick.

On pure talent he belongs on a roster so we probably solved the problem for this year. It just proves what I have always said....you can be an asshole as long as you can still perform on the field, but the minute you drop off suddenly the league finds morals and rids itself of such a shameful character. McManus' issues were too much for Gutes until we couldn't find a kicker.

I absolutely agree with you Bobble regarding the bolded statement. It's the truth. However, when I see that Joe posted McAnus's 50 yards + success rate at 54% and his 40 - 49 yard range success rate at 85%, well, is he really talented enough to overlook the creep factor?

Man we overlook it for you even though you only hit on 53% of your jokes. Lots of bouncing off the uprights happen there…

The NFL got involved when a civil complaint was filed against McManus. I don't think it had anything to do with a drop off in play. His season with Jax had been pretty typical for him. The NFL didn't "clear" McManus, if it can be called that, until September 30. No way Gute would have signed McManus without that. FWIW, Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing the women accusing McManus, also represented the accusers of Deshaun Watson.

He has been for a decade so....
I look at it like the 30 y.o. RB that knocked his bitch the fuck out. The NFL couldn't tolerate that kind of behavior and we never heard from him again. But the 24 y.o. in his prime guy who did the same shit got a small suspension and was welcomed back because he took a class on "don't knock your bitch the fuck out, its wrong".

Ugh. ok, I guess?
McAnus is an upgrade at kicker. Nervouson didn't get sloppy drunk on a team flight and try to kiss/grind against/pay flight attendants $100 each to "party and dance with him".
His wife is sticking around, so he's either really persuasive or he's cleaned up his act (or she's forgiving). He had a rep as a heavy drinker, maybe (hopefully?) he quit. The Chester Marcol stories are amusing, but I'd prefer a sober kicker who can make his kicks and stay out of court.
It's not Deshaun Watson or Ray Rice, but it's not great to have a drunk idiot predator kicker.
Leave it to tank to come up with a threesome story involving Vince McMahon. LOL

I posted this in another thread, but relevant here, too. Over the last 6 years, he is 54/58 from 40-49 yards. Another example of a kicker becoming more reliable with a few years NFL experience. Still not great from 50+.

Best line of the day.
Should his nickname be "Grindr"?

Other than McAnus, I also pondered "Mile-High McManus".

Drunk. Predator.?????
Hardly.
There are people at the downtown college bars exhibiting this behavior every weekend.
Not appropriate or excusing him for it.
The press seems to be lumping him with Diddy, Epstein, and Weinstein.

You're absolutely right. I meant alleged predator.
If dude tried to kiss and grind and generally be a creep to a female friend or relative while they are working and without consent, you might have stronger words come to mind.
I don't think he'll get lumped in with Diddy et al. -- seems like TEH SHIELD has cleared him to play, and if Gute and the Packers signed off it means things will likely get settled quietly out of court and this goes away as a one-time thing. Hopefully.
As for his on-field kicking, he's more accurate from 40-49 than any kicker we've had recently, which should be good enough and why I think this is an upgrade. I also think that if you're on the other team's side of the field and it's 4th and 2 you just go for it anyway... but it's good to have a reliable kicker.

I was not aware of McManus McTrick to McKickoffs.
Has there been or is there currently another NFL kicker who conducts his kickoff in the same, or near the same McMethod?
With a unique approach to kickoffs in which he lines up just a few yards behind the ball, 76 percent of his kickoffs were touchbacks, so he’s got the leg strength to nullify opposing returners.
“I love kickoffs,” McManus said last season. “No one knows where I’m kicking the ball because I’m so close to it. I don’t give away the direction.”

I was at that game with my brother and two buddies. We were sitting in the SE endzone, right down the sideline. Saw the pick coming even before Hasselhoff let go of the ball. WAS THE BEST EVER ENDING TO A GAME I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!!! Beer never tasted so good that afternoon.
