I hope Love doesn't clean that up for them.

Spent last 2 weeks in England, this is barely a home game given the sudden shift for them. If our D can do that to the Texans well balanced offense I would think we should be able to rough up a tired Jax squad. Lets see Love get a little more careful with the football in this one and win a snoozer something like 24-3.

Really weird being 8 games into the season and having all your non conference games wrapped up. Packers looking to sweep AFC South, and it will be nice to face conference opponents the rest of the way.

Pretty good overview.
Tank Bigsby could be a problem for GB run defense if JAX leans on him. They ran the air out of the ball in the 2H vs. NE, who are bad. Thomas looks to be a very good player and might already be their WR1. (They still have Christian Kirk and Evan Engram.)
It's a young team, and historically speaking FL trips don't often go well for GB. Also, they might be looking past JAX to the DET game (and the bye) in the next two weeks.
If GB doesn't overlook this team and just takes care of business, they should win this game comfortably. JAX has a lot of issues and GB is the more talented team.
The injury reports might have a few things to say about this game as well, but there are reasons to expect GB to sweep the AFCS.
Man, I dunno.
Feeling more and more like a trap game to me. JAX is a sucky team in a sucky division in a sucky conference. GB favored.
Big game with Detroit next week, then a bye to rest up, then the freakin’ Bears. Important stretch, hopefully the Pack doesn’t get caught sleeping at the switch or looking ahead even a tiny bit.

Sunny with a high near 80 Sunday in Jacksonville. Kinda like Green Bay last Sunday.

I've never been super impressed with that cat. More hype than anything, IMO. For whatever reason, I saw a lot of bits and pieces of Jags games last year. He doesn't look particularly accurate to me.
Just checked, he's playing decently this year:

You are forgetting about the 5th AFC game against the AFC E 2nd place team. We play the Dolphins on Thanksgiving night.

I think the trap game was Houston. We had a helluva lot of things go wrong, and we still survived. If there's a worry here, it's looking forward a week. Good coaching, though, should take care of that. Love is a good learner. He's not likely to make more of the same kinds of mistakes.

That's what a trap game is. You get caught looking ahead a week instead of focusing just on the opponent at hand.

Run, you just cited one of my favorite betting trends and now I'm sad. Play an opposite conference game on the road the week before a clutch division showdown. Now I'm expecting a heart crushing loss. Thaks a lot captain buzz kill.

Maybe, but I thought it meant coming into a game not prepared enough and getting beat or close. That happened last week. Consequently, I sorta doubt LaFleur lets it happen again.

Words cannot express this enough but I am SO glad that we've avoided the hollow, unenthusiastic, repetitive, biased and always dreaded Buckman™ announcing so far this Packer season.

I'm sure we'll get that shit show of stupidity that passes as sports announcement eventually, but I already consider this season a "win" in the announcer team category.

LOL sorry.
If GB loses this game I will be pissed. This is another game they should win based on the roster talent and health of each team. Upsets happen though. Lawrence is an ok QB, he can get hot but their OL is so-so and their defense has names yet play poorly. If Darnell Savage is playing I wonder if he gets targeted.
They should stop running so many WR jet sweeps - teams are ready for them. If it's 3rd and 1, just feed Jacobs. Dude can make people miss AND push the pile. In fact, I could see this as a game where they feed Josh Jacobs a bunch.
Basic idea is simple - take care of the ball and win in the trenches -- they do those things and they win this game.

Kurt Warner talked about teams running jet sweeps out of shotgun. Said there's very little deception when you do that. Not sure if that's what the Packers were doing, but I suspect at least some of them were.

I've been meaning to ask: did the Packers run a whole lot of the offense out of shotgun against the Texans? It seemed that way to me. If so, why? I don't think it would be because of Love's meniscus - I thought he was healed there pretty well.
I also noticed that since Evan Williams is taking over the other starting safety spot, the team has been moving Bullard to the slot and moving Nixon outside - leaving Carrington Valentine out in the cold. I wonder why. Does the team think that Bullard is a better slot than Nixon, and a better slot than Carrington Valentine is an outside corner?
For all the preseason buzz about Eric Stokes, he's been quite invisible, and not in a good way. What happened to "the speed is back, he's playing fast, hasn't looked this good in years"?

Stokes played ahead of Bullard on a few downs against Arizona.
As a shutdown corner in high school who shut down Darren Charles in a game, I totally hate seeing inside linebackers on the field on obvious passing downs.
I’d like to see J-Alex, Nixon, X, Stokes, Williams, and Valentine all on the field on 3rd and 10.

I've noticed it too. They must think Nixon is better outside than Valentine. I wonder if there's enough stats and measurables on Nixon outside to support the theory.
Bullard may indeed be better than Nixon in the slot eventually, but they seem interchangeable to me.
Stokes has been effectively benched the last 2-ish games. I think his time with the Pack is done unless injury forces him onto the field.

This game is the real trap game. Houston came in 5-1 not some scrubs. The Packers just let them hang around too long. It was obvious who has the better roster. I’m still stunned with Stroud only having 86 yards. They went at him.
Jags are the scrubs and appear to have everything stacked against them this week. In the past we have seen the Packers blow these games too often and make some shitty QB famous for a week. If the defense truly has arrived it will be all business Sunday. The score will reflect it better with the offense not turning it over.

I saw a metric somewhere that had Nixon surprisingly good per snap outside -- higher than Valentine and much higher than Stokes, who is sliding down the depth chart. I suspect Valentine's TC injury, his tacklling, or something is setting him back. He should be getting more snaps IMO.
Sure seems like Bullard will eventually be the full time slot. Williams is McKinney's running mate.
