Duds

Love - Didn’t play like a a $250M QB. Should have dominated this game.
TE’s - 0 receptions.
MLF - Team not ready to play coming out of the bye against a very mediocre team.
Hafley - Defense stunk. 1 sack, too much pass yardage, can’t get off the field on 3rd/4th down, no turnovers. We never made an adjustment during the game. Shades of Joe Barry.
LB’s - Quay had one pass break up, otherwise no plays to speak of.
DL - Invisible. 1 sack. VanNess, Clark, Wyatt, Mosby no tackles or sacks. The Bears O line is a mess and we couldn’t take advantage of it.

Studs

O line - Good pass protection and decent run blocking against a good defense.
Jacobs - Great game rushing and receiving.
Watson - Played like a top pick.
Brooks - Play of the game with blocked kick.

A win is a win, but I expected more from this team.

Studs - The team I guess. Maybe Watson assuming he didn’t get a lingering boo boo. Also maybe Hafley because the defense kept another NFL team under 20 points.

Duds - Number 23. Ship him to the Jets so he and Karen can share organic cures. Cat’s got his money, he don’t give a shit. Also Kenny Clark and Rashan Gary. Against a wounded duck of an offensive line they didn’t do shit. Maybe Gary with a late sack, so ooh, wow, that’s dominating.

23 has a knee injury.

I shut down Darren Charles on a pulled hammy AND groin strain. A knee injury woulda sidelined me.

Play the position before you question a shutdown corner’s toughness, yo! And notice how bad the secondary, especially 24 and 25, was without J-Alex?

And if y’all hating J-Alex for his cockiness, guess what, a shutdown corner is supposed to be cocky! Deal wit it, hombre.

WTF is Walker doing out there?

Studs - Watson, Jacobs, Brooks. Cox looked like he was going to be a stud early and then vanished.

Duds- MLF - other than the opening drive, the team looked sloppy. Play calling was suspect. He hasn't done well coming out of a bye.
Love - A brutal pick almost cost them the game. Watson bailed him out when he could have had safer completions to much more open guys on a couple of plays.
Defense - giving up 19 doesn't sound bad until you remember that the Bears didn't score a TD in their 2 previous games. The couldn't get off the field in critical circumstances. Game on the line and the Bears had a 3-19, and they converted.

Choosing the wrong gap.

Choosing the wrong gap.

Not blocking anyone and committing false starts.

I was fine trading Jaire a year or more ago (along w/ Preston). I’d give away quay for a 7th or change his position to something that doesn’t require communicating plays or adjustments.

He is ideal size/weight/athletic profile to play edge. Our edges fucking blow. I have no clue if he could excel at it, but he isn't excelling at off ball LB either.

Studs. Brooks.

Duds, entire defense and most of the offense. We should have boat raced this team. It was an embarrassment. We bled yards on D. Couldn't finish on O. Yet another red zone pick from Love.

Our OL is average, Our front 7 are not playing up to cost and draft status. We are not winning in the trenches the way you need to if you want to make a playoff run.

Like last year, I said that improvement can be symbiotic. But I don't see where we improve in the trenches and without that I can't see how the rest feed off of it. Last year Walker went on a great run at LT. Jenkins and Tom played great, especially second half. Myers is below average, but they managed to hold their own. We improved nothing (especially with Morgan hurt now). Morgan has too much talent to "fail" but asking a guy to swap sides and positions after a lifetime of muscle memory was a big ask. Hopefully Monk has a 2nd year jump. I still want to draft 3 OL next year.

The problem the Packers have is their 2 most talented LB's, Quay and Cooper, are best suited for Will. They don't have a true Mike, at least not one with the athleticism needed. I could see him being traded prior to the draft to a team looking for a Will. They wouldn't get much though since he only will have 1 year left on his contract (No team will pick up his 5th year option).

The Packers sacked Caleb 3 times, not 1. Cox Jr., Slaton, & Gary.

Love has accuracy issues that still concern me, but he made pretty good reads yesterday, except for the YOLO ball to Watson that went for like 40 yards. The interception was a good read and terrible throw.
MLF teams have trouble off the bye for some reason, I think they'll be focused this week with SF coming in.

Agree Quay didn't have a great game, he still hesitates a beat too long. I think that's a vestige from the Joe Barry scheme and also him not being super instinctive as an NFL LB.
I don't think Hafley called a bad game, I think he was nervous playing a lot of press against those big WRs with Jaire out though. Bears were playing a lot of quick game stuff, but even some of that would have been tough to jam when it's to DJ Moore in motion behind Allen and Odunze in a stack formation. I'd put it more on player execution than coaching on the defensive side.

There simply weren't a lot of possessions in this game. Defense couldn't get off the field, which was very frustrating. The bad Mckinney roughing call, Caleb scrambling like he was Tommy Cutlets or Kaepernick, etc. GB had SIX meaningful possessions and should have scored on 5 of them.

OL was the only stud- run blocking occasionally good, pass blocking was very good -- Love was hit twice and not sacked. That's about the only good thing I have to say, aside from special teams were good this week (Whelan, McAnus, and Karl Brooks). Everything else felt like a dud. Sloppy effort that should have resulted in a L.

OK OK, Christian Watson gets a stud designation also. 150 yards on 4 catches, and somehow no TDs.

This team is explosive, but until it (also) becomes efficient it's going to be frustrating.
