Look at the 2023 All Pro teams, headed up by Cowboys and 49ers.

Every year is different. Both the Cowboys and 49ers have been hampered by injuries to 2023 All-Pros.

I think some were All Pro in 2023 based on past reputations, not their then current performance. I also think some teams are expected to churn out All Pros, and their players have the inside track to getting the nod.

That's probably true of players at positions where stats aren't available, like offensive line. Playing in lots of prime time games probably doesn't hurt either.

All-Pro or Pro Bowl? There is a difference.

There shouldn't be many if any Cowboys on the All-Pro list.

Probably too much reputation overall, but still useful. Trent Williams is the best I've watched, but he probably isn't the best in the NFL right now.

They still bother with naming them? I stopped paying attention years ago.

There are probably some players who have bonuses based on them. That's about the only importance.
