Not a trap game, but definitely one they could lose.

Dolphins have as much speed at the RB and WR positions as any team in the NFL. They are very dangerous with Tua in the lineup.

I saw somewhere where the fins are considered the fastest team in the league.
Watching Tagovailoa is like watching the Wallendas on the high wire or or Brad Gobright free solo. You know a horrible thing is coming, eventually, and you just pray they stop before it happens or at least that you don't have to witness it.

FWIW, 2 of those 3 wins in their recent streak were against the Raiders and the Patriots.
Tua is playing very good.
I wonder how each team will react - weather will definitely feel cooler for the Dolphins, and given how the Niners slipped around you wonder about that Dolphin speed on the Lambeau surface.
The Dolphins are no longer an easy out, but they aren't a juggernaut either. I haven't really watched them enough to get a good read on them, I didn't realize their defense was ranked that high.

Are they gonna be as fast on Thursday when it’s high of 32°?
But I agree, make Tua see stars in the first quarter and this game is a sure W. His offense put up 30+ the past two weeks, but that was against the Patriots and Raiders. I like to think the Packers are significantly better on defense than both of those teams put together.

Their defense has looked good against some scrubs, but the bills have put 30 on them twice. I would expect the Packers offense will be on that level.

Are we still believing the myth that warm weather teams will fall apart in cold Lambeau? I actually think they get fired up for it.

I don’t believe it will make them suck all of a sudden. I do believe they won’t be as fast in wet conditions. Will it be dry?

Partly sunny Thursday. High of 33, low of 19 Thursday night.

This.
Funny, kinda'. I used to free solo. Not super hard but serious enough where blowing it would have been terminal. Very terminal. If I was doing it right, it was very peaceful as I was totally focused and centered. If I wasn't in the right head-space, I wouldn't go; it's an awful thing being so scared it feels like the rats are clawing their way out of your skull. Horrible feeling.

The cold certainly does impact a team coming from Florida. There is a reason a guy like Tua is 0-7. It doesn’t mean he is incapable of winning in cold weather, but it has an impact no different from Green Bay going down to Florida in September. The change in environment is another obstacle to overcome for the visitor that the home team doesn’t have to adjust to.

We are the home team on a short week against an AFC opponent. The only reason to lose this game is if the entire team is already thinking about Detroit 7 days after.

Was that Christmas where they played the Dolphins two years ago? I remember curling up on the couch with a sick kid. At least the Packers won and made it better IIRC.
I expect them to win and find their mojo.

That's what I said about my second marriage.
I have no idea, either. Half-Assley needs to earn his keep this game.

I don't think the cold will "make them suck all of a sudden", but I think it will make them a bit slower, the ball a bit harder to catch/grip, and hurt a little bit more to tackle big dudes like Josh Jacobs in the 4Q.
If it gets in their heads it can be a distraction, or as others have said one more thing to battle.
Weather isn't going to win or lose the game. I think GB is the better team, but they will have their hands full with a resurgent team.
Uncommon AFC opponent, hard to figure this one out.
I think it's a close one but GB being at home on a short week gives them an edge.
If Love can play mistake-free and the defense slows down an explosive offense enough, they should win.
BONUS: Joe Barry is a LB/run game coach for MIA. Wonder if there's any motivation on either side for that reason.

So Tua being 0-7 in games under 40 degrees is a myth according to you old wise one?

Not sure what you mean because as you quoted, JoeMailman called it a myth. That was his response to me saying the weather does matter. I’m not full of shit this time but you might need to read the thread again to make sure you are not.

Just to set the record straight.
From SI article:
“Tagovailoa notoriously struggles in colder weather. In fact, the Hawaii native is 0–7 in games played at 40 degrees or less, per Pro Football Talk.”

I don’t think there’s a real cold weather factor. Perhaps there was this perception in the Favre era but we’ve played this says song for Rodgers/Love and it hasn’t sounded right. Think Tampa and 2x Niner recent playoff losses.
These kids are young. Mostly from the south. Any slight advantage we had in acclimating or coats/cleats seems to be a thing of the past.
It may help slow down Miami and if Jacobs gets 20+ rushes, we control ToP and play clean - I see that as a winning formula.

Tua has vowed to change that he ‘can’t win in cold weather narrative. We shall see.
He said this:
“Yeah, I mean I’m excited to kill narratives, so let’s go. Bring it on,” Tagovailoa said, via a transcript from the team.”

I find it naive to think weather isn't a factor. It just doesn't guarantee we'll win is all.

If we were a grizzled vet with local talent - temperature matters. Rain and snow certainly affect games.
Jso looked at cold games a few years ago and packers have a slight advantage. But it’s a silly narrative after 3 recent playoff losses to warm weather teams alone.

Don't worry. I'm sure he will shut Hill down on twitter. And in postgame interviews he will explain how his influence on the younguns was the key to stopping Tua.

Nah. He will want the turkey leg he was robbed of last year. Only one way to get it and I think he plays big tonight and hopefully the rest of the season.
