I slept through most of the second half of the Bears - Seahawks game and missed nothing. And the parts i was awake for weren't much better. Pretty ridiculous that they could say that the Mariners beat the White Sox by the same score earlier this year.

As always, Bears' defense does the job, and the offense is lost, completely lost.
I'm wondering if all of this will affect Caleb Williams's development, or lack thereof.

It can't help. If the Bears were a smart organization, they would have fired their coach at the end of last season so they could develop Williams with a new coach and coaching staff for a couple of years. Changing everything now will just mean that the season is a lost one for him.

100% agree. They also could have picked a different QB with the 1st pick if the new coach had a different offensive philosophy from the skill set that Williams brings.

Williams has 6 INT's and has been sacked 67 times. Wonder if he's just too afraid to make a mistake. He's been sacked 27 times on 3rd down this year. Can't run an offense that way.

Tuned in to see if Rodgers would get his 500th TD today.
Even better, he set the all time record for QB sacks.

Plus he got dinged for a late hit after throwing a pick.

I’m sure Rodgers will get a garbage time TD for 500, but his career certainly isn’t finishing as he would’ve liked.

Sean Payton had one of the worst clock management moments this year. Even worse than the Bears against Detroit.
All Denver needed was a tie to get into the playoffs. The game went into overtime and Payton started calling timeouts to save time for Denver to score and win. Except Denver didn’t need to win. Cin missed the FG and instead of Denver being able to kneel and win the game, they had to get 1 first down.
They couldn’t do it. Denver punted and Cin got another chance to score in OT.
I really hope Denver doesn’t make the playoffs and all they have to do is look back to this game for why they aren’t in the playoffs.

If I remember correctly teams that fired their coaches this year are 5-15 after the firing. They were talking about it on Moving the Chains on NFL radio.

And Tyrod Taylor gets the TD after Rodgers goes out. It would be hilarious if the Jets shut him down next week and he was stuck at 499.

Nope. They had to put in the backup to get the garbage time TD.

During the game, the beloved by no-one announcer and overpaid football doofus Troy (One half of the infamous Buckman™) watching the same damn replay we all saw of Purdy going to the ground and even in slow motion it was easy as pie to see, particularly in the two times in a row they showed it in super-slow-mo, that Purdy took a helmet to his throwing arm/elbow.
Specifically, he took the facemask of the helmet of a guy tackling him to the ground. Yet the uber-doofus continually repeated how he just didn't see anything there, and wasn't sure of what might have caused him to have something wrong with his throwing hand. You'd think after several decades of playing football, watching football, announcing football and having two fucking eyes he'd see what was CLEARLY on the screen in front of him.
What a colossal dumb ass.

oh they'll pay him. they don't have much else for options, and next year they'll probably run it back with Trent Williams, CMC, and Aiyuk all back. The SF OL and DL isn't what it used to be, but Purdy can carve up a D if Shanahan figures it out.

I don’t know man. They sent Jimmy G packng in a similar scenario. Purdy’s mediocrity shined this season in several outdoor games.

I think you've called it.
That would be so cool for me - imagine the anguish and the wailing and gnashing of teeth in Detroit if they lose their first game after getting the bye. The only improvement of that scenario would be if it was the Packers who took them down.
