I hate when you edit one of your posts, just fix a confusing typo, and then a "last edited by" message pops up, making it look like you changed your mind about something.

if that is truly what you're concerned about...how about proof-reading before you hit "submit"

If you edit before someone else posts, there is no message. I do it all the time, and think it works fine as is.

Me too - I'd hate for people to make predictions, be wrong, go back and update their old post w/o having some visible record of editing...

I love the Google task bar spell checker, BTW.
