QB Rankings thru week 2

Not that this means a lot after 2 weeks but you can see some interesting trends. Look at the top of the list, except for some anomalies, most of those teams are 2-0 or 1-1 - same negative trend exists for the bottom of the list.

The short of it - the QB is one of the most important positions in today's game. It's obviously a team game but you need a solid QB to start it...

I've highlighted the NFC North in yellow. You can see where Brett falls on the list - hopefully he'll improve again after Sunday's game.

I thought Brett would be higher based on the stats he put up against the Aints. Guess those dropped passes hurt him stat-wise, as well as the team. :sad:

yeah i wish they would have included a drop column so we can see if its just our problem, or if every qb has 6 drops a game

I'll look around and see what I can find... I took the main stats from nfl.com but added the rest.
This is from stats.com and qualifies 'drops' as being confirmed through multiple sources - maybe M3 is a little more lenient.

I also saw an interesting item - incompletions/player - with Mr. Jennings high on the list. I think we all know that he'll improve with time.

Here's the adjusted rankings including drops, dropped yardage, etc... not much changes really - except Brett does go from 70 to 76.5...

Now I now how to calculate QB Ratings :lol:

Excellent thread. This also tells us that Jennings is getting a lot of looks. At least he's in pretty good company with Holt, Chambers, Harrison, TO...

Also I believe a "pass not caught" is any instance that the intended receiver did not make the catch, so it could be a drop, bad pass, interception, etc. Not 100% certain.

You are the man Fosco for putting these numbers together, however, I know for a fact the Viking numbers are off. Unless I'm reading it wrong it has the Vikings with 2 drops. Troy Williamson himself dropped 3 in the opening game at Washinton. Wiggins dropped a 3rd down catch that would have converted against Carolina and Travis Taylor dropped on in the endzone in the same game. That's 5 right there....and I'm guessing there is one or two more.

A for passes not caught, its # of passes intended for the WR that went caught through either a drop, bad throw, pass knocked down etc. What I never understood about that stat, how do you know who a QB was throwing to if his arm is hit in motion, or the ball is knocked down at the line?
