I'm as pumped for this game as any Packer game this season. I cannot put into words how great it is to see this city playing football again. I've been to New Orleans and it is a great city, and I'm so joyous that they are playing football again. Of course, football is a game and a game will not bring back lives, it will not erase memories, and it will not rebuild structures that crumbled on that unforgettable Monday. But a game can bring increments of joy to the fans. And joy is sometimes something that can lead to recovery. Let's hope this game can bring some of that joy back to this fine city.

In regards to the game, I belive the Falcons are the better team and so, will probably win. However, do not count the Saints out. Everybody in the United States is rooting for the Saints, even the Falcons fans, even though rooting for their team, will not feel too bad if their team loses. Saints fans have faith in this team, and the Saints have faith in their fans. And maybe that faith, will carry this team to victory.

I HATE ATLANTA because I HATE VICK... Most over rated qb EVER... He is average and they make him seem like he won 3 superbowls, a couple mvps, and has brought everything to the falcons....

All he can do is run, he has a strong arm but he has no accuracy.

SAINTS PLEASE WIN!!!!!

Know what? I just changed my pick to the Saints. Screw it, I'm going Saints all the way.

I'm with the Saints, too. I've always liked them (as a lifelong Brewers fan, I sure know what it's ike to pull for an underdog), and I'd love to see them give their city and region the shot in the arm a win could provide. I have a soft spot for NO too, and my best friend and his family live about 4 hours NW of NO in central Louisiana. He's got one of the few Packer stickers on a pickup in Alexandria. :D

I hate to say it, but the Falcons might be more of a test for the Saints than the Packers and Browns have been for them.

but--Geaux Saints!

Wow, I'm almost in tears. I'm so overswept with joy to see this team take the field.

Balls. I missed this thread when I started the other, so I'll just add my two cents here and hopefully the other will sink into the mire.

Is it just me or is all this U2 concert, retrospective videos and other general pomp and circumstance actually taking away from the significance of this game? I think it would have been a much more emotional and punctual statement to simply have the players come out of the tunnel and play some fucking football. At this point the football team seems like an afterthought.

I root for Atlanta unless they're playing the Packers or there is a Packer implication in the game but this one I'm definitely gonna be hollarin' for the Saints. What a feel good game.

There were a lot of Saints fans in the sports bar I was just in who actually moved here because of the hurricane and there was some tears and dancing and everything. I almost got caught up, had to leave for a bit to finish some stuff at the office. Awesome, awesome stuff!

Green Day and their American Idiot album doesn't seem right for the game, but whatever... TV is TV and always will be.

Pet Peeve:

Why do announcers always refer to an end-around as a "reverse" and a reverse as a "double reverse"? A reverse involves two handoffs/pitches, a double reverse involves three. Anything that involves only two people touching the ball is not a reverse.

add: They freaking led the league in rushing two years in a row, and they're afraid to pound the ball in. Ridiculous.

You bugger!

I smacked that around all day. . . I had 1 point on this game just 10 minutes before the start of the Sunday night BRONCOS @ Pat's game with the 10 on the Pats and something said to me.... WOW .

Just one point went on last night's game that looked like a Pat's win but I had concerns.

So now Ballhawk. You'll be so far out infront in OUR League... we won't be able to catch you to feed you water.

I picked the Falcons from day one, but I just had a feeling the emotion of the night would give the Saints the extra boost to win it.

I only have 7 points on this game, so it won't be a huge move if the Saints win.

Remember, there's still 30 minutes of football left.

BallHawk
09-25-2006, 09:26 PM
So not only does it give you a rush, but it makes your unit longer when you have an erection? Wow, who needs Viagra when you have that stuff?

I saw the score before posting this, but if you asked me yesterday, I would have told you there was NO WAY New Orleans loses this game. They could have played up against the '85 bears and they'd win tonight. Their is too much emotion for them to possibly lose.

I thought they looked great... but watch what McNabb does to OUR secondary this week.

I didn't see anything. I thought of the best team historically, and I didn't remember what year the dolphins were, so I went with the Bears. I was considering throwing in the 1996 packers, too.

No way they lose tonight fellas.

Vick has been hurried on slightly less than 50% of the pass attempts, and hit on a third. Damn, they look great defensively. I think its because they are so fired up playing out of their minds and the falcons not coming close to matching the intensity.

That dome sounds loud as hell with 44 ticks left.

One thing that you guys should think about is those defenders won the game for NO and they certainly aren't all world. They were guys that were extremely jacked up to play. Reminds me of an entire squad of Poppingas.

Except they all didn't blow their coverages
