I'll be at the game & I guarantee a win! It's gonna be a shootout, there's no way Packers hold anyone under 24 points. Packers win 34-30.

I hope you all noticed; this is my post # 400 and that normally means a Packer win..............YOU BETCHA!!!

The last game played against the Rams they crushed them. Not sure how Brett did but couldn't have played too bad with the dominating win.

The only way we beat the rams is if we score 35+ points because our secdonary is just nasty.

First win at home:

I remember that game. Favre's 200th straight start..I believe we beat them 45-17 or something like that..That was Najeh's huge game..

The Pack need a win badly, and the Rams are very beatable IMHO..

Packers beat the Rams in 2004 by 45-17. Favre was 18-27 for 215 yards 3 TD, 0 int. Ahmad returned a fumble 40 yards for TD in 1st Q, Mike Hawthorne also returned a fumble 34 yards for a TD in 4th Q. Rams had 452 yards total, Packers had 446 yards total. Rams killed themselves with 3 turnovers, Packers offense had zip. Oh and Davenport had 178 yards rushing. All hail the ZBS

I was at that game. Monday Night Football. That was the Slowik defense. They actually moved the ball up and down against us, but kept self-destructing. Najeh was strong that night. I remember the weather not being ideal.

The defense has not convinced me they are capable of stopping anybody.

With Driver either being out or not a full strength, the Packers are hurting at WR.

Don't be fooled by the won-loss records of the 2 teams. The 3 teams the Packers have lost to are a combined 11-1. The 3 teams the Rams have beaten are a combined 3-8. My hunch is that the Packers play a very good game and get their first win 27-20.

Not that there's ever a good time for such a change, but this is a tough week for the Packers to break in a new nickel defensive back, probably Patrick Dendy, after cutting Ahmad Carroll. The Rams have one of the best receiver pairs in the NFL with Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt, who though they are 33 and 30, respectively, remain quality players with big-play talent. Defensive coordinator Bob Sanders will do everything he can to keep starting cornerbacks Charles Woodson and Al Harris matched against them, but Rams coach Scott Linehan will do everything he can to get Bruce or Harris matched with Dendy whenever possible.

Plus, the Rams' No. 3 receiver, Kevin Curtis, is a speedster who could burn Dendy for a big play or two if the second-year pro isn't ready for his prime-time assignment. The Packers' secondary has been giving up big plays all year, and the Rams have the receivers to torch it a fifth straight week if Sanders can't shore up the communications, techniques and assignments in the secondary.

Fosco33
10-08-2006, 09:37 AM
Which play do you guys think is gonna be most effective against the Rams?

While the Rams have made a number of positive strides in most areas of special teams, the kickoff coverage has struggled in recent weeks. Detroit’s Eddie Drummond had a big week and were it not for a few saving tackles from rookie Tye Hill, the numbers could be worse.

At it stands, the Rams are 31st in the league in kickoff coverage. It seems most of the time it has been all or nothing for the unit, allowing a long return or pinning the opponent deep.

The Packers have Koren Robinson, who went to the Pro Bowl as a returner last year, handling the return duties. Robinson presents a variety of problems and Linehan says the Rams need to find a way to improve on coverage.

“Every week you’re going to have something that you’re going to have to work on,” Linehan said. “Someone exploits something. Somebody executes something better than you do. I’m confident that we’re going to do the best job that we can to improve on it, and we’ve got to go out and prove that’s the case by executing a better game this week. I just have confidence in our coaches and our players that they’re taking accountability into what happened the week before, and will work very hard that week to correct it.”

The Rams will be without fullback and designated wedge buster Paul Smith this week as he recovers from an eye injury. But the Rams made a big move to bolster the special teams on Tuesday when they signed linebacker Isaiah Kacyvenski to a one-year deal.

Kacyvenski is a special teams dynamo and could provide the spark the unit needs to make positive strides this week.

“He’s played so many spots during his career in the NFL on special teams, that it’s pretty easy to make that transition,” Linehan said of Kacyvenski. “There’s a lot of schemes that are similar. I know Bob [Ligashesky] knows a lot about him as well and has been coaching against him, and knows the spots that he’s played and things like that. We’ll put him in the positions on the coverage teams or the return teams where he’s got the most experience.”

I just don't see how we can stop the Rams. Usually I'm pretty optimistic, but when you don't have a nickelback against a team with three solid WR's (two alot better than solid), what can you do? I doubt a shoot-out would even help us.

I'm looking at 31-10, Rams. I really hope I'm wrong.

The Rams are a few plays away from being 1-3 and barely beat a Lion team that Pack beat outright.

I see a big game for Morency, Jennings and Robinson on offense.

The defense will struggle - there's no question about it. If we play 'bend but don't break' defense, we'll play with this team.

Look for a few key plays on either side to determine the winner of this matchup. It won't be a blow out.

The Rams have a new offense and aren't the greatest show on turf anymore. They have also been struggling mightily with scoring in the red zone.

Let's hope the Packer D can take advantage rather than be the cure for what ails them.

I remember when I was excited to see if Rossum could cover Faulk in the dime in the postseason game. Now they don't even have him and I am more worried. Doesn't make sense. Nothing makes sense when you have 6-10 talent.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Running back Ahman Green was inactive for the Green Bay Packers' game against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

Green also was inactive in Green Bay's loss at Philadelphia on Monday night with a sore hamstring. Vernand Morency, who was acquired in a trade from the Houston Texans for Samkon Gado last month, made his second straight start for the Packers.

Brett Favre, who sustained a pinched nerve and possible mild concussion on Monday, and wide receiver Donald Driver (ribs/hip) were nursing injuries in practice this week but were active for Sunday's game.

Rams starting cornerback Fakhir Brown (ankle) also was inactive on Sunday. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Tye Hill.

Hopefully w/Brown out for the Rams...Favre can work over their secondary.

That looked like a Favre TD pass.

Ok, 1 timeout and 3:30 left. Let's do it.

Big kickoff needed from Robinson.

kick out of bounds will do as well

I know that our secondary is getting beat up in the forums, etc. but the bottom line is that our d-line gives these qbs all day to throw, we can't expect our secondary to cover these guys for 5 and 6 seconds every play. They have got to do some things with blitz packages if our defense is going to have any success. I don't care how good yur corners are, they can't be expected to hold good receivers for so long!!!!!!! This was the primary problem Monday night also!!

what? WHY?????
Hodge missed most of this week w/ a knee injury, i think.

i meant why call timeout?

I'm ok w/ the D taking one if they don't have the right coverage. The result didn't seem to change though....

What is the Ram Run D ranked? We have run a lot of draws, but run blocking seems like its still on an uptick.

get moll in there?

Tough call. One thing we need to findout is who are the two best guards on this team.

We need a line that plays consistently together - for a number of games - in order for the ZBS to really function.

Keep Spitz in there until 3rd Q at least; if he screws up a few more times then get Moll in there.

That clock issue to start the 2nd Q is now a huge play.

It could have been 3rd and 2 w/ 15 secs left if we had that timeout left. A shot to the endzone before taking the FG is like gold - you need that.

I bet Favre is pissed about that, too.
