Count me as another Packer fan who thinks the Packers have a legitimate chance to win this game.

I know I have predicted the Packers to lose all but the Lions' game. My prediction for this one:

I have seen Daunte play only in the highlights and reviewed stats. He hasn't played well but nether has our defense.

What does anybody know about the Fish's defense? Their line still strong like it used to be, or no?

They're ranked 5th in yds/game, 12th in scoring, 8th in pass defense, 11th against the run, even turnover ratio, and tied for 8th in sacks with 13(one less than the packers). Pretty good overall.

Run the ball effectively and, as with the rest of the games, not give up big plays.

The fins are tough against the run though. They went into this past week giving up a league-low 2.9 yards/rush. The Jets ran for 103 yards against them as a team. They're pretty tough to run on. If we are successful, I think we win.

If we get a couple turnovers on Harrington, that would be big as well...

Any word on Ahman Green for this week?

Bump.

This is a very winable game. In a manner of speaking; I don't expect Packers to win a certain game (this season). The Packers are too young and eratic to predict. But they will win more games this season - just not the ones you expect.

I predict a Packer win on sunday:

Packers 27 Miami 23

I think Dolphins have a better team than Packers when it comes down to playmakers, guys like Chambers, Brown, Taylor, Z.Thomas, McMichael, W.Allen and Wes Welker. Yes, Wes Welker, that guy is a difference maker on ST and is a super # 3 WR. BUT they don't play well as a team and the coaching staff is not one I envy. That's is why Packers can win it and what a scalp to finally win in humid Miami

Fritz
10-18-2006, 02:35 PM
It'll be interesting to see how the offensive line blocks this week. If they continue to progress and can get some holes for the backs, it could be a good day.

But the d-line needs to create some pressure on Joey Blue-Skies. If he has a little time he's not bad. He won't win you the game, but he won't lose you the game.

Fins 42 Pack 14 in a fricken blow out!

Harrington destroys Dendy, Harris, MAnuel and Collins for 320 yards and 4 TDs. Their defense returns a Green fumble for six and Ronnie brown gets 157 yards and a TD.

Good news!

Notebook: Rest Helped Green

by Mike Spofford, Packers.com
posted 10/16/2006

While the weekend off was a good time for all the Packers players and coaches to get away and get refreshed, the player who benefited the most from the bye might have been running back Ahman Green.
Nagged by hamstring troubles that have forced him to miss the last two games, Green practiced just once last week to heal up. He came back to practice on Monday looking like his old self, and Head Coach Mike McCarthy expects him to be ready to play on Sunday at Miami.

Ronnie Brown had his best game last week, but the 'phins running game has been pretty poor this season. I think the Packers are good enough to shut him down. If Woodson doesn't play we could be in trouble. Harrington can put up numbers if the protection is there. But, if the packers can put a little pressure on him, he will melt. On offense, if the packers can get some semblence of a running game I think Favre could have a big day. He's rested and hopefully recovered from his shoulder injury. I'm expecting a solid victory for the Pack. 28-10

The fact they can't run the ball is hurting them badly. Miami doesn't need to blitz to get pressure. Although Favre had some time the last couple of plays. He isn't looking real sharp to me.

Gotta spread out the Miami defense and run the ball. You aren't going to run the ball out of 1 WR sets with 8 Dolphins in the box. You HAVE to spread it out with 3 WRs to get the 8 defenders out of the box.

Gotta spread out the Miami defense and run the ball. You aren't going to run the ball out of 1 WR sets with 8 Dolphins in the box. You HAVE to spread it out with 3 WRs to get the 8 defenders out of the box.

I saw them go 3 wide at least once....but that's just about all the recievers they have at this point.

GB left three guys in to max protect on that play.....McCarthy must have broken out the Tums by now.....

Took him too many plays to realize that.

Again, think Bears or Panthers here. Even though it is the Fins.

Again, we need to lose the T/O margin battle by 2 or less or it's an automatic L for an average/below average Packer team. Come on AJ - get your first pick today

That was b/c of Hawk's blitz - not Hawk's reception but just as tasty

Let's see if we can do the ultimate - points off turnovers. Score a TD here and the fumble/TD is nullified.

It's your day - take it or leave it.

Ok, Poop and Barnett get an INT. I still want AJ.

This is big - we need to score a TD here and win this game by winning T/O battle and pts off turnovers.

Another hidden mistake that costs the Packers a possible TD.

Two consecutive drives where we are in Fin's territory and on 2nd and 1 doing a weak handoff. WTF?!?

That's a free play. The previous series we get a penalty and go 3rd and long - settle for a FG. Now, we have a few incompletions and settle for a FB.

I'm settling into my couch for a long day and settling on the fact that we're not a good team this season.

I have no problem with the run. They didn't want to give the ball back to Miami with any time left to work with. I would've called a timeout before the FG though to allow a liitle more time. THat was where the bigger mistake was IMO.
