I like Limo Head. She's was a local broadcaster here in the Twin Cities. She's a lot better than the eye candy the networks usually put out there.

That may be, and I might have misinterpreted his post. But, I think Tafoya does a good job. Better than most sideline reporters lately.

I watch HD TV for the only reason to watch HD. Great images! She is not one.

I get tired of them trying to turn the NFL into a soap opera. ESPN seems to be the worst. You miss the game so they can go on and on about crap that doesnt have anything to do with the game or even football it seems! Sometimes stuff like what a guy does in his off time is interesting to read, but I dont want a 5 min intervue and a video mini series while the game is on.

So Zool, are you saying female reporters should stay off the

sidelines, they are useless as far as relating information goes ???

NBC's Sunday Night Football is sooo much better. Madden has his critics, and sometimes he blabbers on, but he knows his football. Also, Al Michaels is a great play-by-play guy. On MNF, Tirico is good, but Kornheiser and Theisman are just bad. They're good for satire, though.

I NEVER thought I'd say this, but I miss John Madden. Maybe they should put Tafoya up in the booth and get the cameras out of there like it used to be.

I don't even mind Kornholio. It's THEEZ-man that I can't stand.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Theisman

Late in the season, his hallmates in Zahm Hall hung an enormous banner out of a 4th story window proclaiming, "Theisman for Heisman," (sic) changing the original pronunciation of his surname, "THEEZ-man," to rhyme with "Heisman," which he has used since.

Well I never thought I'd say it either [not outloud anyway]
but I miss him too. Maybe it's the wise grandfatherly image?

No, P4E, I think it's because they've done the impossible and found someone 10X more annoying to replace him.

Nope. Im saying man, woman, child, transvestite, orangutan, antelope, W/E. I could give a crap less about whats going on in the personal lives of the players. If you're going to have a sideline reporter, they should only be heard from when there's an injury or something else to report relating to the current state of the game.

This also goes for the people in the booth. Most of them think they have a future in comedy. FYI Theismann, youre about as funny as a hangnail.

Basically I'm tired of the "talent" in the booth trying to make a name for themselves by interrupting the game. It might be that networks have so many commercials that there is no down time for them to ramble like there used to be. They feel like they have to get in their story about the flight to the stadium, or the hotel they are staying in, so they tell us in between plays when we could be watching a replay of the previous play.

In summary, nothing against female sideline reporters, just have something against sideline reporters in general.

Agree to all that, doesn't seem to matter which gender,
there ARE too many who babble on and on over stuff we
couldn't care less about. I wish JM could maybe be guest reporter
in booth once in a while.

When Spike network lays out 120 bazillion to broadcast NFL games we'll get the coverage we deserve.

Gay guys wearing ruffly shirts, capes, feathered hats and carrying yorkie dogs have somehow taken over Network Sports Production, including at ESPN.

They are the only ones who could possibly make the preposterous mistake of thinking that men want to hear from women during a football game.

It just ticks me off that they are talking about stuff that has nothing to do with the game going on. I don’t want to know what Carson Palmer's off-season diet was or the details of Ben Rothlesburgers last surgery! Ill find that out in a paper or on the internet if I am actually interested. I tuned in to watch a football game, not listen to some less than attractive lady pretend this is general hospital!

I know its completely shallow of me, but at least if they are going to be talking about nothing, give us some good looking chicks

"I get tired of them trying to turn the NFL into a soap opera. ESPN seems to be the worst. You miss the game so they can go on and on about crap that doesnt have anything to do with the game or even football it seems!"

I couldn't agree more. I am soooo sick of announcers trying to turn the games into "stories" - that whole "Rising star Palmer heroically comes back from injury while aging warrior Favre slips down the sh_tter" soap opera comparison had me urping up my beer. And that was the preseason.

I think it's a result of trying to make sports into entertainment. Me, I like football, and I like the Pack. I want to know who made the tackle, and as for analysis I'd like to know why an announcer believes a certain play was called or decision made. I don't care for made-up soap opera plots that get played out as the "story" of the game.

Amen, Fritz!

But what on earth accounts for the fact that most football fans agree with you, emphatically so, and yet we get layers of distracting fluff and poorly produced video?

Why is the production of football games layered with crap the customers don't want?

MJZiggy

Because we're complaining to each other and not to ESPNothing. Or their advertisers. When their ratings drop because they're a bunch of idiots over there, then maybe they listen to us. Until then, they think they've improved it over what's been done for decades and have made it more entertaining for us uneducated fans who just need to know whether Big Ben has any scars on his face left over from the accident.
