On ESPN they thought the Packers,49ers,Titans,Bills and Jets are the teams that will be in the running for THE #1.

49ers #1, Pack #2 (without Favre)
49ers or Texans would be my guess. I don't see the Packers being that high, but...wouldn't surprise me. Of course then I'll have to bite my lip in support of Aaron Rodgers cause Brady Quinn will be there

Brady Quinn anyone?? This year Hawk, next year Quinn, hopefuuly they won't show Hawk's sister as much in the NFL as they did in the bowl game.

I think the Lions O will finally improve the their new look O.
Yes he is...and he should be a better rookie because of having Charlie Weis.

Weis is a great coach and with you being a fan of ND, you should be very thankful for him being in South Bend.

Why would I lie about something like living in Berlin...Graduated from BHS 1999.
so they are like everyone else Ziggy, and got the F out of Markesan? Huge population drop and school population drop soon in Markesan, gonna kill that school.

Brady who?
John Stocco would go #1 in 07 if Beilema opens up the offense. Stocco is the best QB at Wisconsin since...Jim Sorgi. Bollinger was the worst since...well, Bollinger is the worst of all time.

Where do you live in Berlin?
wow...moved from Ripon to Berlin, that's dang near sac-religious.. of course stupid Kelm has to win 2 state titles there...i dont like ripon :D I've actually applied for the head job in Markesan, but we'll see...a freshman job is opening in Berlin, and if i can't get a job (teacher), and i'm still around here, a lot of me would rather be in berlin....Markesan Head job, makes LESS money, than the Freshman coach in Berlin as well.
i live a block from Clay Lamberton

you mean John Sucko?
You obviously haven't seen Stocco play. Stocco has a Marino-like arm, Manning-like pose and McNair-like leadership.
Stocco is winning games by being who he is. Unlike Bollinger, who lost games because he thought he was Mike Vick each time he touched the ball.

Berlin needs some new blood. This area has the athletes they just need to be prodded a bit and they need to focus on BFS. The Frosh class is pretty good. THEY ARE REALLY HITTING THE WEIGHTS pretty hard.
I personally think Stocco has a Darrell Bevell like arm, Ryan Leaf like pose, and Anthony Dilweg type leadership.....but that's just me.

Stocco can't hold Bollinger's jock--even if he wanted to.
Stocco is from Richfield, MN.
Funny that the QBs at Wisconsin got ripped a lot--yet Bollinger and Sorgi both did pretty well in the NFL in spot duty last year.

Smart QB's who serve as good #2's.
YES Berlin needs new blood. Not that I am new blood, since i'm from here, but i've learned a lot since goign on and playing college ball, etc....but someone needs to do somethign else than run what they've ran since 1980. I know Vergin was a man among boys last year...But they have so many athletes that just go under used cause they just do what they do, and have done for years.
I get really frustrated with Berlin Athletics cause there are good atheltes in the school...just need to bring it out better. I like BFS, but I've learned a lot better lifting "ideas" than BFS that work really well. My college program that i transformed over to my first school i coached at got amazing numbers from those kids.

Don't. That was over 10 years ago and he's been perfectly fine all this while save for the normal complaints of aging. They just realized that they could no longer live far away from bigger medical facilities.

Is Brett going to Winona St.? Phillipi was such a leaner he gave leaner's a bad name.
No,both Vergin and Phillippi are going to Stout. My boy Tyler Lackas, All area MLB from Markesan is going to Winona State and representing for me though.
Phillippi is my size with more athletic potential that just went unused, which is like #1 reason i get frustrated with BHS...Phillippi should ahve been the most dominate high school player, football and basketball...and he wasn't

Should be the other way around. Stocco is better than Bollinger. Heres all Bollinger did in college: 1st down, handoffs to Dayne; 2nd down, handoffs to Bennett; 3rd down, run for 2 yds when team needed 5; 4th down and long, incomplete pass.
Sorgi played well last year; Bollinger? Same old same old
Yes i do know Jeff Gerner...good guy.
Yeah i'm proud of WSU. My freshman class was the "class" according to them. there were 43 of us, 29 of us were all state guys. we won 3 conference championships and really got the school to believe in giving more scholarships, and giving what needs to be done. If you didn't know, our coaches name is Tom Sawyer  I really think he'll have them fighting for a National Title soon...especially now that Basketball won before he did.

Gerner? He's going to Whitewater.
Stelly just doesn't care anymore. I work with him, and for him, and he's just not there anymore, and I think part of his "attitude" carries on. Stelly and I never got a long...I was too vocal for him as a player. I think Stelly will be retired within 2-5 years.

I was talking about that 330lbs T from Berlin. Heard he was headed to the Dakota's to play ball.

Did you go to school with Matt Kobishop?
Oh Bahn? no clue
It'd be very tough for him, cause he's such a maller, straight ahead blocker type...he'd really have to get out of the "berlin mode" and get more athletic.

I agree on that. Some of the frosh told me that maybe a couple of the upper classman would attend the summer workouts. With Ripon kicking their a$$es up and down the field, you would think they would want to be better and hit the weights ect. When I played, Berlin truely was a dominant team.
I know i would...and that's how i trained..i was sick of losing ot Waupaca when i was in school...but yeah, i'd like to get in there, see what i could do to help with my almamater. but, i'm off for the night, i have a double header tomorrow at 9am vs. ripon...my softball girls suck so it'll be a long day... oh the joys of coaching.

Hey i do wanna report that the top Junior High School player, Jimmy Claussen,
I just had a flashback to the NAtional Lampoon Radio Hour, a comedy show from the mid-70's. They interviewed an 8-year-old football prospect named Jimmy Doogan, I kid you not. "Look at those calves, Loyd" I just remember the coach told the interviewer to punch the kid in the gut to show how hard he was, and the kid died.

where the heck is Berlin and where the heck is Winona State. My guess is, Berlin is in Iowa and Winona State in North Dakota.
my lack of knowledge about geography is influenced the educational theories of modern time. In HS and college, you can choose between History/Politik or Geography. I have always chose History/Politk, cos i know if i want to find a place, i can simply look at a map.

Oh my God. That clip aired in 1974, lasted only 5 minutes. It is mentioned all over the internet, and is available a clip! Jesus. Apparently I'm not the only one who has lead an empty life in the intervening 32 years.

The Story Behind "The Jimmy Dugan Story" First, a little background: On an April 1974 broadcast of The National Lampoon Radio Hour there was a bit called "The Jimmy Dugan Story" which featured John Belushi as a sports show host interviewing Brian Doyle-Murray as a coach/trainer who turned toddlers into super-athletes. One of the tots, Jimmy Dugan, is in the studio. The coach describes the grueling training regimen imposed on the kids and, at one point during the interview, goads the interviewer into punching little Jimmy to show just how tough he is. Of course, Jimmy starts crying. The coach eggs the interviewer on to hit him again because "he can take it." Sadly, he can't and the second blow proves fatal, thus bringing a tragic close to "The Jimmy Dugan Story."
Reader Mark Winter sheds some light onto how this darkly funny bit was brought to life:
"I heard an interview with Michael O'Donoghue on the Kevin Mathews radio show here in Chicago shortly after O'Donoghue died. In the interview Kevin played 'The Jimmy Dugan Story.' O'Donoghue told Kevin the secret behind how he got the kid to cry so realistically. O'Donoghue found out the kid was terrified of big dogs before the kid showed up for the show. While the kid was doing the recording session O'Donoghue had a staff member bring a huge dog up to the studio, but kept it hidden out of the kid's sight until needed. At the right time O'Donoghue brought the dog into the studio, and when the kid saw the dog, he lost it and began to cry. O'Donoghue got the recording he wanted and it made the piece really funny."

On the original topic...
I think Tennesee has the inside track. They're hurting all over, and if McNair isn't back, they are in trouble.
The Jets, potentially. If Curtis Martin is done, Pennington doesn't rehab, and with Abraham gone, what have they got? Nothing, and a bad nothing.
I think the 49ers and Texans will both be better. Both younger teams going the right way.
NO is a wildcard. I really don't know how to evaluate that team.
