what would make you all happy as punch with the Packers first round pick??

mine would be if the top safety and corners are gone, all being equal, i want the Pack to trade down and pick up another pick and then nab a guy like Sidney Rice!!

He is the big play, speed threat we havent had since Javon left!! Plus we get another pick for trading down!!!

Yeah welcome to the forum.

I think the first round is pretty deep, so a trade down would be great. Lots of guys I like at the late first early second range. I would love to get Zack Miller in the early second if possible after a trade down. We need a TE threat bad.

Don't matter. Best available at WR, DL, S, or CB. Even an RB if it's a standout. TE is a high priority also.

My dream draft for the Packers would be...

1. Marshawn Lynch RB Cal

2. Robert Meachem WR Tenn.

3. Brandon Merriweather S Miami.

do teams ever trade down out of the middle of the 1st? unless a really big name like quinn starts to freefall, and someone wants him really bad

theres some good looking depth in the mid to late rounds, unless someone really has a bonner for one guy, then i don't see someone wanting to trade up

i can see us trading to pick up more picks, but not with our first rounder

Wolf did it in '95 when he traded from the 22nd spot to the 32nd to draft Craig Newsome.

What a draft that was, here's the players Packers acquired that day:

Newsome
Keith Jackson (2nd round pick - trade)
William Henderson
Brian Williams
Antonio Freeman
Travis Jervey
Adam Timmerman

Any wonder why they went to two Super Bowls the next two seasons? Put them over the top.

I would say that TT trades down, ends up with 5 late picks in the first round and then drafts:

Calvin Johnson
Joe Thomas
Adrian Peterson
Reggie Nelson
Alan Branch

And while I am watching the draft, Heidi Klum comes over and .. . Well never mind.

Hey, when I dream, I dream big!

My dream pick: Reggie White

My dream first round involves all teams before the Packers passing their picks. Then all teams passing their picks until the Packers pick during the second round. After Green Bay has made about 7 picks, then we can let everyone else get some players. I have strange dreams.

I don't see this happening unless Lynch falls to the Pack, and they can work out a trade with someone looking for a RB. If they were work out a trade with NYJ, going from 16 to 25, that would be worth a late 2nd round pick according to the NFL Draft Value Chart.

Hey, when I dream, I dream big!

This was funny. And Heidi Klum is smokin'.

A more reality-based hope, for me, would be to see the Pack trade down, pick up an extra second, then trade down in the second, pick up an extra third, trade down in the third for an extra fourth. That way, you'd have two two's, two three's, two four's.

A big draft class, composed of largely second through fifth round picks, means the odds of hitting on more guys is better. I don't know the players well enough to know who I'd like to see them take, though. I do like Drew Stanton, however. And I wouldn't mind seeing the Pack make Mad happy by taking that Paul Williams guy.

Reggie Nelson

He's not big but he plays big which might drop him to us.

He plays fast. He plays smart. He has good ball skills and a nose for the ball. He was one of the most productive defenders in college football.

I think him or Lynch but I usually lean t'ward defense as being more important so I'd take Nelson.

I think our run game is going to be alot stronger with just the physical/mental growth of our youthfull O-line.

To me defenders have 4 major qualities that make them special.

Run stopping
Pass rushing
Coverage skills (INT's/pass game)

last but not least (They hurt people)

I have a growing appreciation for defenders that hurt people. Sometimes the ones that do damage can't really play football so the downs out number the ups, but when you get a solid football player who also inflicts pain, you have yourself a probowl type player.

Hawk

Stops the run
Rushes the passer
Has ball skills
and Hurts people

He's not off the charts on any one but he's good at all of them and I think his best quality is that he plays mean and hurts people.

Reggie Nelson for a safety

Stops the run
Has ball skills
Hurts people
pass rushing isn't so important, but as evident by his kick blocks, he has and explosive burst and knack for timing to make big plays in that regard.

He's got everything IMO. He's not huge, but he plays really big. If he drops to us, I think he'd be a great pick.

I would lllllllooooovvvveee if we traded up and got Adrian Pederson or Calvin Johnson or even Tedd Ginn. In reality...TT trades down and we end up with the last 16 picks in the 7th round.

I'd rather have the last seventeen picks of the seventh round than have TT waste the first round pick on Tedd Ginn. Hee isn'tt thatt goodd.
