The movie "Shane" is on Turner Classic Movies. If you've never seen it, watch it.

A classic Alan Ladd movie.

Great that TCM is having all the Oscar nominee movies on this month.

It is a classic. One of my favorites is Clint Eastwood's "The Outlaw Josey Wales."

The sound of the guns in that movie was something else. I think they shot into barrels or cans....and the filters they used on the cameras. I have never seen another movie like it.

Jack Palance.

i remember an old married with children episode, where all Al wanted to do that day was watch Shane, and things kept happening and he ended up missing it

never seen the real movie though, i read the book a long time ago though

the original star wars is on right now on HBO, speaking of classics. but its the redone version, which i don't really mind, but others do

It's a great movie, but IMHO it's no where near Clint Eastwood's "Unforgivin".

I thought Unforgiven was overrated. It's like they had to give him an lifetime achievement award. The middle section was 30 minutes of one uninteresting killing after another. Josey Wales probably was Clint's best Western. Pale Rider was just a ripoff of Shane.

Josey Wales is probably my favorite movie ever. A Clint Eastwood western with an anti-war theme. Can't get much better than that.

Crazy.

"Jean Arthur was over 50 years old when she played Marian Starrett--she was, in fact, ten years older than Emile Meyer, who plays the grizzled old cattle baron Rufus Ryker."

Meyer looks 20 years old than Arthur.

There were only three who died before the last ten minutes of the movie: The two cowboys, who'd cut up the whore, and Munny's old sidekick. All three were dramatic, and crucial to the story.
This was not a typical western. There were no real good guys. The sickest most evil character was the protaganist.
