I see some clown made an PS3 thread so I figure a Nintendo Wii one is in order. I dont see how anyone can buy a PS3 after trying out the motion controlled remote of the Wii. I got the Madden and it is badass using real throwing motion to launch the ball. Hell even a girly sport like tennis is fun for this sheeze.

I heard there is a hack to get it to play copied games. Think it was called a "Winja chip". Anyone heard of this?

I saw those but didnt feel like spending $30 on some plastic. Besides I am sick then a mofo and dont really need any advantage. That is why I stopped playing video games years ago, cuz I couldnt find a challenge. Now I got this sheezze and Im like the rockhead hitting the pipe again.

Just got the Wii Play, the shooting and Pool are pretty nice.

Have you tried any of the driving games?

To tell you the truth, our Wii has seen about 3 hours of play the last two months. We played it more the first couple of weeks, and Wii Sports is still the game of choice. I thought Zelda was just another overrated fetch game, and to tell you the truth, we've got 3 or 4 games still in the plastic. I'm sure we'll get to them at some point but...

I've been spending most of my free time with the PS3. It's easy to just boot up, play a few games of the MotorStorm demo (yes, another driving game), play a few rounds of Resistance on-line, or watch a movie or some anime we've got stashed on there. Once the games start spilling out in a couple weeks, I'm sure the system's gonna be on even more.

I like the Wii, but I guess the whole arm flailing thing just didn't grab hold of me the way I thought it might. It's still fun to play the free sports games more than anything and I appreciate the weather and news channels, but I could really, really use a media player to go with that internet browser and it would be nice if that damn built in WiFi was used for something other than system updates and selling me shit from the Nintendo Store.

You can't really compare the two, as they are built to be very different things, but right now the PS3 is doing a much better job capturing my casual (10-20 minutes) gaming time as well as my more extended lazy-ass sit on the couch for an hour or two time.

The Wii is awesome, I just got one last weekend! You can surf the net with its opera browser, as well as get news and weather channel updates, too.

You can't really compare PS3 vs. Wii. If you want graphics and want to deal with memorizing where a half dozen buttons are on the remote, then the PS3 is for you. But I'm not a gamer...I'm a thirty-something that grew up with Atari!! The interactive stuff with the Wii is alot more fun with people who don't have an ounce of video game skill. In fact tonight I'm having a few people over.....I'm sure a few games of tennis will be played for shots

I bought Zelda and I don't get the damn thing. I guess i need to get the guide for it or whatever. I also have Happy Feet (love it) and some Tony Hawk game that came with my system, it's pretty fun, too.

You can also download a bunch of the old Nintendo hits, too. Love Super Mario Bros and Mario World! and of course...the original Zelda.

For the price, you simply can't beat it.

If anyone wants to trade messeges, PM me with your Wii number

That's the thing I don't get. Compared to the Playstation control, I think the WiiMote is terribly difficult to use in games like Zelda. It has just as many buttons, but they're all over the place, some are round, some are triggers, some on top, some underneath. Half the time I forget that some of the buttons are there, and the rest of the time I forget what they do. It works fine when you only have to worry about pressing the main two buttons and/or the trigger, but the other button underneath and the cross pad are hard to get at when you've got the nunchuck in the other hand.

The other thing I recommend is placing tape or a band-aid over that little speaker on the control. That thing gets annoying fast.

Anyway, I'll try to find my Wii code and post it here. I thought that would be easier to do to. Maybe having your virtual Miis wandering around on mine will make it more appealing.

Btw Skin you can go into the options on the wii remote and turn the sound off. Idk i beat zelda within 50 hours? or pretty close to its a game that takes devoted gamers, im not a huge gamer but ive beat the rest of the zeldas so i figured whats one more, i dont think the remote is that hard, i like the trigger underneath the wand its great for target games. Idk for me it was easy to pick up but then again im proably 10-40 years younger than all of you

Is that an option in each game or is there a universal setting I missed?

I'm sure that using a playstation control for 10 years now has something to do with not feeling comfortable with the wiimote, but I just found that having all the buttons in different places in conjunction with trying to remember that shaking the damn thing does something the buttons don't do and that tilting it does something else plus whipping the nunchuck around does something else altogether was a bit overwhelming in Zelda. Some of the controls weren't natural at all which means I'd completely forget about them.

I've been gaming since may parents brought home this bad boy k-mart brand system 25 years ago. Say hello to the S FOUR THOUSAND!

http://www.atarifun.com/COLL_SALE/P1160493%20(Small).JPG

It was pong with several different options, like tennis and squash. Each player was a line on each side and a moving square was the "ball." We played the shit out of that thing. Best part was, it literally said "K-Mart" on the console - right there under the sexy green and red buttons. I wish I still had that thing. They just don't make em like that anymore.

If I understand correctly, Game Cube games can be used with the Wii. Which is awesome finding games that aren't $50 each. Is there anything special that I need to play GC games on Wii?

Some of them need a GC controller, due to the number of buttons used.

So, do I need to buy a wireless GC controller or does the wired controller just plug into the wii remote? I don't want a cord across the room, which is why I ask.

go to a gamestop GBM and get a bunch of used games for dirt cheap

resident evil 4 is a kick ass game for the game cube.

i had a chip put in the original ps. i rented and burned like 2 games, and that was it. i don't even think i played the burned games after i made them, i had enough of them after the rental period

so for me it wasn't worth the money to get it done

Yeah, we have alot of those kinds of places here where you can buy used games. however, even used Wii games are still like $40-$45. Which is exactly why I'm interested in finding some fun GC games. I guess all I need is a wireless GC controller, since I don't want a corded controller.

I bought the Wii classic controller though so I can play Mario World. I downloaded it. I'm a sucker for retro games I guess !

A lot of people recommend the wavebird or something like that as a wireless GC control. The wired CG contoller plugs into ports that are hidden under one of the Wii's many secret doors. I think the one on top (assuming you have it in the vertical position).
