Tom Kowalksi, of MLive.com, reports the Detroit Lions are hoping to trade down in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. The Lions currently hold the No. 2 overall selection in the draft.

Hmmm...this would assure us Adrian Peterson or Calvin Johnson...both would be gamechangers. Anybody like this idea and what would it take?

not gonna happen

according to the draft trade value chart, we would have to give up every single one of our picks this year, and next years #1 and maybe #2 or #3 in order to move up to the #2

#2= 2,600 points

our entire draft= 1,743.2

Wow...nevermind then. Thanks for the reality check, red!

I did hear this as well though...they like Brady Quinn, but think they can trade down to like 5-7 and still get him, and add some more picks to their day.

I think ND has it right. The Lions may be looking to trade down, but not all the way to 16. Plus, trades like this seldom happen between division rivals. The most likely scenario would be for the Lions and Cardinals to work out a trade so that the Cardinals can take Joe Thomas.

Especially since the Cardinals have told Leonard Davis that they will not tag him, and he will hit the free agent market

And they've said for most of last season they'd LOVE to get Thomas.

Brady Quinn seems now likely to slip.
The Lions are prob. figuring they can land him several picks later & pockets a extra pick or so.

What's really funny is this is the year they should take a WR but that will never happen, C. Johnson appers to be the real deal.

But from what I've seen there's no way he will fall to us so I'm not even paying attention to him. Let's look at someone we have a shot at at least.
