I hope TT spends very wisely and doesn't spend too much on decent talent.

Not sure why you are worrying. TT has shown himself to very prudent. I am still surprised at the signing of Woodson, but overall he is very cautious. Perhaps with the front loaded contract, TT figured if the he pans out it will be worth the up-front risk.

Several will be cut for salary cap reasons in the future and be free agents again.

That's usually how it is when it's a shitty FA class..

Look at this past baseball offseason..Pitchers made CRAZY money..Barry Zito is a good pitcher, not a great one, and he got the biggest contract for a pitcher in history..

With the salary cap going significantly up over the past several years teams will have money to throw at average players.

No doubt. Gil Meche got like $11-12M/year, for Crip's sake. The guy had an ERA of 4.48, 5.09, 5.01, and 4.59 the last four years. At least, Suppan has been a winner--in the regular season and playoffs.

sure the salary cap is increasing over the years. but are these deals worth it? i mean, thats awfully a large amount of money. i think at least half of these deals wont turn out to be good ones.

Agreed. I'm not so sure why people get worked up over players who are oftren over-hyped or injury prone or aging.

TT done good last year. I think he's earned a little respect.
