A source told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that Miami has placed Randy McMichael, who caught 62 passes in 2006, on the trade block.

Miami is believed to be seeking a third-round pick in exchange for McMike, which is interesting considering new coach Cam Cameron's history with pass-catching tight ends in San Diego. But McMichael has a history of off-field troubles and is due $4 million in 2007 earnings, including a $3 million roster bonus and $1 million base salary.

If it was as easy as signing him I would say yes, but he's not good enough to trade for IMO.

I think McMichael is worth a look. 3 mill against the cap, and a 3rd...Solid pass catching TE...Some off the field troubles, but hey, if we're looking at Moss, then why not give this guy a look?

Because Moss is Million times better, and hopefully cost about the same in a trade.

Moss will be much more than 3 mill...No reason why both can't be signed. I'm not a big fan of giving up picks, maybe a sign and trade for Martin? McMichael caught a ton of passes even with those stiffs for QB's in Miami. Think of what Brett can do with this guy.

McMichael is a good player and would definitely upgrade the position... would just depend on compensation - both in terms of trade and cap hit.

If he were a FA, I'd be more likely to say yes... wouldn't give up a #3 for him.

The cap hit is minimal, not sure about the 3..Would like a player trade instead, but would like to see something done here. Doubtful it will happen of course, but would be a definite upgrade to the offense.

lol Sorry I read 5th rounder in my minds eye, weird, and ah HELL NO for a journeyman talented TE for a 3rd when The Mooner is that same price and can be explosive!

Also he is hurt almost every year and disapears after the 5th week.

I say trade them Bubba straight up, they might be intrigued by a guy like Bubba. I mean, who wouldn't?

Bubba was pro bowl caliber two years ago.

I don't think he's worth giving more thne a 5th rounder for.

An obvious upgrade? Tell that to favre when we have a play action and the TE is suppose to "bump" the blitzing linebacker but ignores him and lets favre get layed out.

Thats what Randy has done over and over. He is not a good blocker and is bassically a big WR playing TE. I'll take good blocking over no blocking at TEany day. Favre needs that protection.

Didn't McMichael singlehandedly lose the Dolphins-Packers game this year by tipping two passes for pick 6's? If i'm thinking of the right player I definitely prefer Bubba's drops to McMichales tips.
