How can denver year in and year out be big time players in UFA? You'd think they would end up in cap hell eventually.

I was wondering the same thing. RG seems to have an explanation, but I don't think its accurate. I have a hunch it will check up with them quickly. they trade picks and sign free agents like crazy. They don't have nearly as many cheap labor (rookie contracts) on their roster as other teams it certainly seems.

Same way Washington does it. Pay out huge roster bonuses, inflate the backend, add in option and bonus tirggers and cut the guy before it hits the fan.

They also let the agent call all the bonuses guaranteed even though much of it is not guaranteed.

This still seems crazy money for a blocking TE.

Gotta agree, PB. The guy caught 21 passes this year and two td's. Denver paid a lot of money for that production. He must be able to block two or three guys on every play.
