I dont have much to say on the subject other then that this would be the baddest WR squad the Pack has ever seen. Can it happen? Yes, will it? Who knows but I had to say it cuz it is just that damn good.

They'd be damn good, but best EVER?

My problem is that I have trouble sustaining cool fantasies like this.

For example, in my teenage beauty princess runaway hitchhiker fantasy...my empathetic masculinity usually leads to a quick reconciliatiion with her family and a return to Jesus before anything good happens.

Mad, if this were 2002 then I'd agree with you, but you're talking about a pretty long-in-the-tooth bunch. Can't we just sign one old guy to go with DD and Jennings, and draft a yongster?

there would be no double teams with that group, and every one of those guys has enough talent to dominate in one on one coverage

but horn is probably going to want 5 million a year, which i was fine with for 30 year old ahman, but not fine with for 35 year old joe horn

Driver, Moss and Jennings are better than that group IMO. Add any 4th you want.

MJZiggy

They steamrolled any team that came near them and won a Superbowl. Time will tell with Driver/Jennings/Moss, but they aren't as good until they get the job done.

I don’t want Horn. Nor would I want Moss and Horn. They both have big egos. Moss would be mooning some fans and Horn would be calling his momma after a TD. I’d rater have DD, Jennings, Moss and either Ruvell Martin or Holiday as a 4th.

Freeman/Rison/Mickens/BeebeLook skirt, Im talkin bout ball catching skills not who you think makes the nicest set of eye candy.

It would be a good WR corp but an aging one so I can't say it'd be the best. I can't say they'd be the best. What did the Rams have during the Greatest Show on Turf? Wasn't it Bruce, Holt, Kennison or Proehl and Curtis?

Then look over at what Indianapolis had a couple years back with Harrison, Wayne, Stokely, and Wilkins/Moorehead?

I"m thinking back to the Detriot Lions under Fred Flintstone....what was his name.......Wayne Fontz...yeah. They had Herman Moore, Johnny Morton, Brent Perriman, and Aubrey Matthews (a former Packer). That was special.

Even thinking back to the Superbowl with Oakland and Tampa Bay..... Oakland had Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Jerry Porter, Curry and or Gabriel? (I think they were both there that year).

And how can we forget the Vikings tandum of Carter, Moss, Reed, and I think Hatchette was the 4th WR...that or a Return guy/WR Palmer.

Anyway, there are several examples of tandums that are just as good or better than the proposed example. Go back several years and put this together and you'd have something but Horn and Moss aren't what they were 4 years ago.

OH MAN! How could I forget the Old Run n' Shoot crew from Houston? Givens, Hill, Jeffries, and Duncan! That was amongst the best.

Look, pants, it's hard to argue with a Superbowl win and if you'd ever REALLY looked at these people you'd know your eye candy statement holds no water.

You can really run with this topic if you start thinking of past WR units. The Bills Superbowl teams had Reed, Lofton, Beebe, and S.Tasker.

That Houston team though....it may be hard to beat them.

Atlanta had something too but I can't recall the WR's. I know Mathis was one. Rison may have been there still but probably was gone already. Another guy that was part of that team went to Pittsburgh and disappeared .....any help?

No one on that team cept Brett Favre had a 1000 yards they were not special, had Brooks stayed heathy maybe pretty good, the only special thing that year was BF and Reggie White and Desmond Howard.

See, I'd give ahman 10 mil for one year, but I don't want him to be locked in to the starting back for the next 3 years like he is in texas.

Likewise for Horn.

One year of service and done. Thats what happens when you get old.

I would think that would have to do more with Brett Favre being a stud at the time versus the receivers. That wasn't an exceptional receiving group by any means.

I like Moss, Driver, Jennings, and Robinson better. I know Robinson is going to miss some time, but if he comes back say week 5 thats not that bad.

gureski
03-07-2007, 11:30 AM
Come to think of it....what has Robinson ever done as a WR? I know he made the pro-bowl as a return man but I can't recall anything more then maybe one single season years ago in Seattle where he flashed anything as a WR.

Sure, he has potential but if we're talking about unstoppable forces and who the best tandums are in history (which I broached) then this isn't one of them.

Lies. You know they would all look very, very attractive next to the average man because:

A. They are muscular and very fit
B. They are freakish athletes who were likely blessed with 9 inch penises.
C. They have a boatload of experience so you'll know they'll be good.

Cheesner, that is what I was thinking. Who was the tight-end then??? Anyone remember? It wasn't Coffman, was it??? The tight end was about as close as you would get to a third receiver in that day.

MJZiggy

Yup, I looked it up. I thought it might have been McGeorge but he was long gone by the time Jefferson arrived.
