Packers | Team interested in Brown

John Murhpy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports free agent RB Chris Brown (Titans) has been in communication with the Green Bay Packers.

Ever since his days as a Buffalo I've thought he was underrated. His main problem has been staying healthy.

Given his price shouldn't be too high I'd love to see him in Green and Gold to split time with Morency.

TT, GET-R-DONE!

Lynch , Brown , Morency .... 1 + 2 + 3 Punch!

But according to packer chatters...

It will be Peterson instead of Lynch

It's funny that Thompson is interested in the CHEAPEST FA RB available and it seem's most here are ok with that. Did I miss something? Are the Packers strapped for cash? Do we have cap space problems? Does anyone here realize that IF Brett only plays this last season, how much cap space his salary frees up? We have no for-see-able cap problems in the future, yet God forbid we over-pay for a much needed player now. This is getting to be a freakin joke........

The guy is a stand-up running, not getting low to the ground at all....backs like this don't work well with the exception of Dickerson.

I would rather stay with what we got than take this guy.

   :( :( :(

I like Brown. Not as a #1, but as part of a rotation between him, Morency, and a rookie. Thompson already showed he won't overpay a lot for a RB, and a lot of teams are going that direction (Indianapolis, New England).

I suggest you go to packerreport.com and look at the list of available free agent RB's. They have Brown listed in the top 3 (FA RB's). Is he a franchise changing RB? No. But he isn't the cheapest one out there either.

You must have forgot that Morency & Herron are capable starters. And don't forget about PJ Pope and Arliss Beach. We're solid at RB.

What is your point? TT isn't spending enough money? What is your alternative? Chris Brown is a starting caliber running back who could especially help in 3rd and short situations, something the Pack had a problem with last year. Spending more money doesn't guarantee more production, like Joe Johnson, Cletius Hunt, & etc. TT isn't cheap, he's being smart, the Pack has healthy cap space for the first time in years and if he went throwing money at all the big names out there, (Moss), I'd be worried. The queens blew their wad on Hutch, Smoot, Sharper, & etc., and what did that get them?
