Here is article that says Brown is now a Bill:

http://nfl.aolsportsblog.com/2007/03/07/pushing-mcgahee-out-the-door-bills-sign-chris-brown

I can't find anymore info. on this. PFT.com says that he visited Buffalo today but did not mention a signing. The signing is no where to be found. Hmmmm.

Perhaps this means the Bills will not go after Lynch as many have speculated. At least that would help us out.

Exactly, and that's why this makes me happy.

I doubt signing Chris Brown would preclude a team from drafting a RB. I don't think it would have precluded the Packers drafting a RB... had they signed him.

I'm really not personally convinced that Brown would be an improvement over Morency. If the answer to "will he win the starting job over Vernand Morency?" is not a clear "yes", it's probably not worth signing him.

This has nothing to do with Lynch. You can't go into a draft at 16 thinking you're going to get him and just ignore any other RB options in FA. Way too risky.

Don't worry though, we should be comfortable with our current quartet of backs.

Chris Brown is a good player and all, but a spot guy.

We will need a feature back and Brown wasn't it. I would like to have him on the roster he's got some talent, but we need a guy who rack up some carries.

Yeah, I'm sure oppossing defenses shutter at the Morency-Herron combo.

I'm pulling for Pope!

you know, for everyone that's ticked about the running back situation, especially ahman green...Ted Thompson did offer him a 3 year 20 million dollar contract...not that much different from the Texans, the only thing the Texans did was throw in a bunch of bonuses to push it over. Ted's not being cheap here gang. And Chris Brown never even made it to Green Bay for Ted to officially offer him a contract, he was suppose to be here on friday.

And Chris Brown never even made it to Green Bay for Ted to officially offer him a contract, he was suppose to be here on friday.

That worries me somewhat. The fact that a player won't even come here to see what we have to offer. Are we getting a rep as being "cheap?" Gone are the days were FA's wanted to play in GB for a chance to play with Favre. We were so spoiled in that aspect.

or maybe, cause it's Green Bay, Wisconsin??? and the fact we have 2 feet of snow, and it's 10 degrees outside? I know buffalo is "warm" by any means, but still. if you had a choice between 10 million dolars in Miami, or 10 million dollars in Green Bay..........???

Could be a lot of things. 8-8 doesn't help. Favre on vrege of retirement doesn't help. Coach without buzz. And yes, we aren't the Redskins or Cowboys with the signing bonuses either.

Mostly, its the likelihood of getting the player's contract request met. T2 obviously doesn't promise the moon just to get them to visit. They probably visit in decending order of the offer's dollar figure.

I see your point overall, ND but for Brown in particular, it's concerning. I mean that's kind of a moot point because he didn't sign with Miami. Have you ever been to Buffalo, NY? 2 feet of snow for them is an appetizer. But they probably have something classier than Applebee's. I bet that is what sealed the deal

When did Chris Brown become the next Gale Sayers? Cripes, he's a part-time back, a spot guy. That's like gnashing your teeth over the Pack not signing Corey
schlesinger when the Lions cut him.

Man, let's go back to talking about the draft. People are getting freaky.

I seem to remember a few years back that they had a guy who rushed for about 1500 yards, then drafted McGahee in the first round. (His name was Travis Henry, he was pissed about it then, and is still pissed about it today)

Me thinks it don't matter one bit...

My grandmother heard it on ESPN sports radio, and my uncle Ernie sold him a truck this afternoon at a Yugo dealership. It's true, you can count on it.

All reports had Ahman wanting to average 5MIL per year before free agency.
IMO a 3Yr 15MIL deal would have got it done before the chaos started.

If you are going to decide to do it, do it BEFORE free agency.

3 year 20 mil does not have to be more lucrative than the Texans offer. With a smaller singing bonus, a back end roster bonus or ludicrous salary in the last year, a 3/20 offer could be a cheaper two year deal.
