Hmm. Well, that's one way to keep him from rushing for 450 yards against you...

don't worry. Here's how this works. You get a really good deal when you let everyone else get signed and then you swoop in and get the last guy really cheaply.

I'm thinking Ron Dayne for about $400 bucks a week.

2003 I think. That was the year he almost broke Dickersons rushing record.

The thing w/ Lewis is after his incarceration you noticed how his performance went down. There were indications that he had been taking HGH and once he went into jail and was off the stuff has never been the same. Doubt if you could ever prove it but lots of speculation in the blogs. If Clevland can figure out how to get him to take it again w/o anyone knowing then they have a good deal.

Jamal Lewis is a VERY old 27. He's played 6 years and already has over 1800 rushing attempts.

It is only a one year deal. They still will look hard at AP in the draft.

Ahman Green is 30 and they have virtually the same number of carries. Yeah, that's a huge workload. Especially, with his running style. He doesn't run around people. He looks to run over them.

LEWIS GETS UP TO $5 MILLION?

Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reports that running back Jamal Lewis will be paid up to $3.5 million by the Browns in 2007. Of that amount, $1 million comes from a per-game roster bonus.

But a league source claims that the amount is actually up to $5 million.

The Ravens had hoped to get Lewis back under a one-year, $2 million deal.

Though the move will prompt some to conclude that the Browns are now out of the running for running back Adrian Peterson, we think that Peterson is still firmly in play.

If they decide instead to focus on quarterback Brady Quinn, look for the Browns to possibly try to trade back a few spots, since Quinn is still expected to be available after the first five picks are made.
