On other boards I've seen the following noted:

Free agent RB Dominic Rhodes reached agreement Friday morning on a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Oakland Raiders.

Don't quite understand this when they already have resigned LaMont Jordan and have Fargas and other youngsters to run the ball. That and huge amounts of money tied up with their WR's makes all the sense that little money is left to pay for a decent offensive line.

That's pretty cheap in this market, maybe Al picked him up so he could trade him for two first round picks. :D :D :D

Rhodes has always been a backup, and will be again.

This fella had a very promising Rookie season in 2001 as he filled in for an injured Edgerrin James.

Primarily because the Colts had a productive E. James he remained a back-up, yet he might have fit well with OUR team under a RB by committee format.

He's not a big back but I always liked the way he ran when given a chance. Also he was relatively inexpensive.

POPPIE TO THE RAIDERS

Running back Dominic "Poppie" Rhodes, who not long ago was reportedly urinating all over himself after a DUI arrest, will now have a chance to soil some silver and black.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that Rhodes has agreed to terms with the Raiders. The deal is worth $7.5 million over two years. Mike Garafalo of the Newark Star-Ledger suggests that the base value could be lower than that; he says that the contract is worth "up to" $7.5 million.

In an unrelated story, all couches at team headquarters will be covered in plastic.

Rhodes gave an MVP-caliber performance in the Colts' Super Bowl victory over the Bears. His numbers for the game were better than those of Super Bowl XXV MVP Ottis Anderson -- and Super Bowl XLI MVP Peyton Manning's were worse than those of Giants quarterback Jeff Hostetler in the same game.

DUI charges against Rhodes are unresolved.

They don't need a running back. They need a wide receiver for when Moss is traded to the Packers.
