AUBURN HILLS, MICHIGAN (TICKER) -- The Detroit Shock, trying to bolster their chances for a second straight WNBA championship, signed four-time All-Star guard Shannon "Pee Wee" Johnson on Tuesday.

Terms were not disclosed for Johnson, 32, an eight-year veteran who averaged 9.9 points, 3.7 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.88 steals in 32 games with San Antonio last season.

"What a great acquisition for the Detroit Shock," said coach and director of player personnel Bill Laimbeer. "Shannon has all the skills and experience to fit right in and help us repeat as WNBA champions. We play defense, and Shannon is an exceptional defender, amongst the steals leaders every year."

Along with four appearances in the WNBA All-Star Game and three selections to the All-WNBA Second Team, Johnson won a Olympic gold medal with the United States in 2004.

WAKE UP TT ... we could use a veteran guard, and you never even brought her in for a visit!!! It is obvious that you have NO PLAN, and you just want the Packers to lose EVERY GAME next season because YOU WANT TO BE FIRED.

 If they do any pulling, she probably beats him by a mile with her quickness. But then she gets obliterated by the linebacker ...
