I really like Louisville in this tournament. I've got them in the elite 8 in two of my brackets I think. Of course, I had to pick the Badgers to win in one of them. Over Ohio State, no less.

BTW, Brian Butch practiced yesterday. If we can hold on our first 2 our 3 games he may be able to play.

Duke just isn't very good this year. As a long-time Duke fan, McRoberts is the most overrated "star" that they've ever had. I wouldn't take him in the first round of the NBA draft. Some people act like he's a lottery pick. Paulus showed more 'nads than McRoberts. I hope McChoke goes pro, so room is cleared up for the recruiting class that is coming in.

Ron Lewis is cold-blooded. Conley is amazing. Whomever said Ohio State was a one-man team hasn't watched them much this year. They do need to get Cook going to have a chance. He's been horrible the last handful of games, and he's a freshman, so he'll take bad shots.

I disagree with this. Butch only had one dominating game all season and had overall pedestrian numbers. The Badgers strength was their overall depth so losing another big guy with limited athletism shouldn't have been a loss that submarines a season.

I wrote months ago that the thing that may derail this team come tourney time is their 3 pt shooting woes and inaccuracy from the FT line. Both of which proved fatal today.

HarveyWallbangers

Disagree with both; Butch is no star, but what they lost is two fold

1. A legit #3 scorer
2. An offensive player who brings the center out from under the hoop to open up the inside game for Tucker.

The season was done when Butch went down.

Bad night for the officials, and Billy Packer sucks. USC may have had a guy knocked down on a 3 point attempt late, but I wouldn't know because CBS never showed a replay. USC was very upset. Then, with 45 seconds left and USC down 6, the officials call a lame call at that point in the game. They called a moving screen on a play that guys (e.g. Tyler Hansborough) get away with all game. I can't even be sure it was a moving screen. Looked like the guy may have gotten set, and then the UNC guy runs into him. Bad call at that point. Tim Floyd then makes a bone-headed move. Pretty average job of officiating tonight. I thought the team that deserved to win probably won all of the games, but the breaks seemed to be pretty one-sided in most of the games tonight.

oregonpackfan
03-23-2007, 11:21 PM
What do you guys think of Oregon's freshman 5' 6" guard Tujuan Porter? The kid scores 32 points as the smallest man on the court!

Oregon's other guard, Aaron Brooks, had an off night. Averaging 18 points a game, he only scored 7.

Though the Ducks are a quick team, they are no match for Florida. Florida's inside big men will eat them up.

I was surprised as well as disappointed to see UCLA beat Kansas today.

For the disappointment part, I hate seeing any Southern California team win a major college ball game.

For the surprise part, UCLA lost both its games in the Pac-10 tournament before the NCAA playoffs began. It seems surprising to see a team that lost 2 games in its conference tournament make it to the Final Four.

Before the NCAA playoffs began, I had someone out here that his written brackets had UCLA going all the way to win it. I thought he was crazy. Maybe he wasn't off the mark after all.

I got 7 outta 8. The homer in me went with the Badgers. Its not super impressive this year because there hasn't been any real upsets. In two pools I am in, there are like 20 people doing better than me thus far, and i've lost 5 games total.
