Well, we know opening day will not be played against the Bears, Giants, Chargers or Dallas.

Since Thanksgiving is an away game with Detroit that game is ruled out.

Opening Day Opponent odds:

vikings home or away 20%
Detroit at home 10%
Philly at home 10%
Chiefs away 10%
Broncos away 10%
Raiders at home 10%
Redskins at home 10%
Rams away 10%
Panthers at home 10%

So there is a 60% chance the Packers open at home.
20% chance of opening against the vikings at either location.

I want Chiefs in week 1; a tough, tough road game but can be won on opening day.

I bet it'll be the Vikings though, home or away.

Whoever it is the Packers win it. Home or away. Favre and the boys make a statement. Hell yes.

Actually those are not entirely accurate odds. Someone more familiar with statistics will have to help me out.

6 opponents out of 16 games are ruled out for opening weekend for the vikings, Redskins, Eagles, Rams, and Detroit. Therefore their odds of opening against the Packers is greatest. The vikings are clearly then the highest odds of playing the Packers opening day.

Carolina is next with 5 of their 16 opponents not playing the Panthers on opening day. 1 of 11 for them.

Lastly are the AFC opponents(Bronocs, Chiefs, Oakland) on the list as 4 of their 16 opponents are playing on Opening Day.
