I don't know if this is confirmed or not, but some in here have noted that Nick Barnett's contract is severely frontloaded and could hit the cap with as much as 12,000,000 next year.

If this is the case, I'd say for those hoping for Moss to win in the immediate future must be disappointed. Because the structure of this deal undoubtedly makes that very hard.

And for the record, it's a great move to secure Nick Barnett's stay in Green Bay.

Cheers,
B

there is still hope... Wasn't Green Bay's Cap number in the mid 20's??? Like 24 something... That would leave 12 more million for rookies / Randy Moss...

But is that whole 12.5 mil he's making this year count all towards the cap? Doesn't the roster bonus not count? I could be wrong.

Very minimal chance that Randy Moss goes to Green Bay. Mainly because of Al Davis.

I'd probably agree with that too; if it happens it will happen on draft day when the GM will lower his price.

But this does not help matters any either

Randy Moss wasn't coming to green bay after the first phone call.

Now he won't come without a restructured contract (good luck with that).

Good move on Barnett! Glad to see he is staying.

1) Moss salary is 9.75m, Barnett is 12m this year.
2) Moss admits to taking plays off and won't/can't block. An MLB does not have the luxury.
3) Barnett is at the peak of his career, Moss is long passed it.
4) Moss ain't not never no time been no Packer People.
5) Nick Barnett is probably faster than Moss now.

Ummm, just a question, but isn't the rookie pool separate from the regular salary pool?
