Because I did some outside contracting work involving Nike, I was allowed to go shopping at the Nike Employee store in suburban Portland, OR with my family this afternoon.
Nike makes available all of its apparel, shoes, equipment, eyeware at 50% off for its employees, vendors, etc.
The last couple of nights, my wife, daughter and I studied all of the items for sale and went in with a list and budget. I was grateful we limited ouselves as the place was a virtual athletic candyland.
A Nike rep told me tha former pro basketball player Scottie Pippin holds the record for the greatest amount of purchasing in one visit. The guy bought over $250,000 in 50% reduced Nike merchandise! The guy must have had to rent the largest U-Haul available to cart the stuff away!
My family gratefully walked out of the store carrying our purchases in two bags.
